Vaughan Scott is a family business advocate, a thought leader on innovative ways to address family wealth, and an adjunct professor at University of Louisville where he is currently teaching business consulting. He has been advising on the financial, strategic, transition, and succession needs of family enterprises and entrepreneurs since 1997. His purpose is to help to make a meaningful difference in the lives of families for generations.
He began his financial services career with Fifth Third Bank and then joined J.C. Bradford & Co. which was acquired by UBS. Vaughan later founded the Smith Barney Investment Center at Your Community Bank. In March 2009, he and several other members of the team moved to Wells Fargo Advisors and launched Axiom Financial Strategies Group.
Vaughan holds his Masters of Business Administration in Global Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management (European Cohort) and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Indiana University at Bloomington. At Thunderbird, Vaughan was a member of the National Business School Honor Society, the National Political Science Honor Society, he graduated with distinction, and he was elected class speaker for commencement.
He has completed classroom study and research guided by the Family Firm Institute, Inc., an association of professionals serving the family enterprises. Vaughan was inducted as a Fellow of the Family Firm Institute at the 2015 FFI Global Conference in London, England.
Vaughan also holds an Executive Certificate in International Economics Relations from the Graduate Institute in Geneva, Switzerland which is considered one of Europe’s most prestigious educational institutions. In addition, he has earned the Certified Private Wealth Advisor® designation. The CPWA® designation, delivered by Investment Management Consultants Association® (IMCA®), is the only advanced designation designed for financial advisors and consultants who work with high-net-worth clients in their life cycle of wealth.

Vaughan and his wife have been married for almost 20 years and they have three children. Vaughan's personal interests include fitness training, golf, traveling, and spending time with his family.
