The Envision® Planning Process helps clients stay on track to meet their goals

The Envision process combines goal-based advice with sophisticated statistical modeling -- designed to help you live the one life you have the best way you can, without undue financial sacrifice or over exposure to risk.

Here's What Envision Plan Holders Have to Say

  • 97% agree their plan is personally tailored to meet their unique financial goals
  • 95% agree having an Envision plan helps them feel better prepared for retirement
  • 91% agree their plan helps them talk to their Financial Advisors about significant life events

How the Envision process works...

1. Define and Prioritize Your Life Goals (Ideal vs. Acceptable)

The Envision process begins with a conversation between you and your financial advisor that's designed to help you identify, clarify and prioritize your financial goals. You and your advisor will use the discussion to define your "ideal" retirement scenario, which represents your goals and dreams in a "perfect world" and your "acceptable" retirement scenario, which represents the compromises you could make to your ideal goals and still feel comfortable with your life.

2. Stress Test Score Your Goals

Once your goals are prioritized, Envision uses Monte Carlo simulations in which random market returns (up years, down years, flat years, etc.) are used to stress test each scenario 1,000 times to statistically determine how likely you are to achieve your goals. This is ultimately expressed as your Investment Plan Result. We recommend an Investment Plan Result between 75-90. A plan result below 75 would indicate a low confidence in being able to achieve all of your goals, while a plan result over 90 would indicate you may be taking more risk than necessary or sacrificing more than necessary.

3. Implement and Monitor your Recommended Plan

Based on your goals, dreams, concerns and risk tolerance, we will propose an investment mix to help you achieve those goals. Then Envision helps you stay on track toward your goals by providing a personalized benchmark called the "dot." At any point in time, you can call us up to see how your dot is, look on your statements or track it online. This simplifies the answer to "How am I doing?" or "Will I have enough?"

If your goals or financial circumstances change, it's easy to update your Envision plan to account for these changes and measure the impact it has on your ability to stay on track!

ENVISION METHODOLOGY ASSUMPTIONS:
Based on accepted statistical methods, the Envision tool uses a simulation model to test your Ideal, Acceptable and Recommended Investment Plans.  The simulation model uses assumptions about inflation, financial market returns and the relationships among these variables.  These assumptions were derived from analysis of historical data.  Using Monte Carlo simulation, Envision simulates 1,000 different potential outcomes over a lifetime of investing varying historical risk, return and correlation amongst the assets.  Some of these scenarios will assume strong financial market returns, similar to the best periods of history for investors.  Others will be similar to the worst periods in investing history.   Most scenarios will fall somewhere in between.  Elements of this report's presentations and simulation results are under license from Wealthcare Capital Management, LLC.
