Background and experience
My passion for helping people was inspired by my mother, a teacher, who spent her career giving and educating others to help make their lives better.
As a Financial Advisor I work with my clients to thoroughly understand their financial goals. Some of these goals might include savings for retirement, saving for child’s education, or helping people recreate their paychecks in retirement. I want to know what motivates my clients and also what keeps them up at night.
I collaborate with clients in a goal based planning approach that incorporates all the information gathered in the discovery process to create a personalized, comprehensive investment plan. This plan becomes the foundation for annual review meetings and is updated as needed.
I take a comprehensive approach to investment planning and examine every element of a client’s financial life, including debt management, cash reserves, insurance, estate investment planning and tax implications.
I started my career as a Financial Advisor in 2003 at American Express Financial Advisors. I have a degree from the University of Idaho where I majored in both Finance and Information Systems. With an emphasis on continuing education, I have also earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and the CHARTERED RETIREMENT PLANNING COUNCELOR™ practitioner designations from the College for Financial Planning. For these designations, I completed approved educational programs, passed rigorous examinations and met stringent experience requirements.
Away from the office
My wife Carrie and I reside in Federal Way, Washington where we are raising our three kids, Kaden, Mikelle, and Halle Kay. I enjoy watching my kids school activities, boating, crabbing, wakeboarding, and going on long walks with my wife and two dogs, Skipper and Coral.
