Background and experience
Since 2001, David has been advising professionals, business owners and their families as a former estate planning and business attorney (no longer practicing) and currently as a financial advisor. Built on integrity, trust and mutual respect, he works with clients to understand what is important and unique to them. David takes a comprehensive approach to investment planning and examines every element of a client’s financial life with a focus on risk management, including debt management, cash reserves, insurance, estate investment planning and tax implications. His goal is to translate a client’s vision into a plan with a purpose and in their best interest. David is committed to being a lifelong advisor to clients.
David holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification, awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. He also holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) certification, administered through the Investments & Wealth Institute and taught in conjunction with Yale School of Management. He received a Bachelor of Science from Benedictine University in 1998, a Juris Doctor from Northern Illinois University College of Law in 2001 and a Master of Business Administration from Northern Illinois University College of Business in 2004.
Away from the office
David and his wife, Jonelle have been married for over 15 years and have three children, Alexander, Isabella and Julianna. Spending time with their family is the top priority for David and Jonelle. He also enjoys playing golf, basketball, the guitar and volunteer coaching for his kids’ sports teams.

Unfavorable feedback may have been discovered through a check of complaints registered with a regulatory authority or complaints registered through FSP’s consumer complaint process; feedback may not be representative of any one client’s experience; C. Individually contributed to a financial settlement of a customer complaint; D. Filed for personal bankruptcy within the past 11 years; E. Been terminated from a financial services firm within the past 11 years; F. Been convicted of a felony); 4. Fulfilled their firm review based on internal standards; 5. Accepting new clients. Evaluation criteria – considered: 6. One-year client retention rate; 7. Five year client retention rate; 8. Non-institutional discretionary and/or non-discretionary client assets administered; 9. Number of client households served; 10. Education and professional designations. FSP does not evaluate quality of services provided to clients.
