Gregory Downs, ChFC

As Senior Branch Manager and Executive Director at Wells Fargo Advisors, I lead a network of branch offices across Columbia, Greenville, Florence, Sumter and Greenwood, SC. With a career spanning over 30 years in the financial services industry, I bring deep experience and a client-first philosophy to both my personal advisory practice and my leadership of financial advisors across the complex. Prior to joining Wells Fargo Advisors in May of 2025, I spent 9 years at Ameriprise Financial serving as both a Branch Manager and Financial Advisor, including 5 years in a leadership role. My earlier career includes 7 years as a Financial Advisor with MetLife Securities, 4 years with Merrill Lynch, and a decade with AXA Advisors, where I served as both Financial Advisor and Branch Manager for 7 of those years. I hold a Bachelor of Arts from Wofford College and have earned the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designation from The American College. My professional credentials include FINRA Series 7, 24, 26, 63 and 66 securities registrations, along with Life and Health Insurance Licenses. I continue to serve my personal clients while also supporting and mentoring the Financial Advisors in my complex. Together, we help individuals, businesses and families pursue goals across the full spectrum of wealth management including wealth accumulation, preservation and transfer through comprehensive and personalized planning. I live in Irmo, South Carolina with my wife, Randa. We have three children: Alex and Aeryn, who are both in college, and Arya, who is currently in high school. I'm passionate about personal growth, mental and physical fitness, hiking, and travel.
