Hey there. So, this past weekend, I'm watching a poker tournament. Now I like to play poker. I'm just not very good at it. I don't have the patience, and I can't sit still.
I'm hoping I'm always going to get lucky, and I react emotionally. And a young man that I grew up down the street from has become a professional poker player. So out of interest, I end up watching a few hours of this poker tournament.
And from an absolute boredom sense, I couldn't take it, watching this young man fold hand after hand after hand and waiting for the right moment to make a bet was driving me nuts.
It was boring. It was monotonous. It was crazy. I couldn't believe it. And I watched him come in 2nd place out of, like, 3,500 some people in this poker tournament, and he did it because he had a plan and a process.
He was extremely patient. He wouldn't play hands that didn't meet his system, and he ended up coming in 2nd place. It was pretty exciting to watch. But watching his level of patience throughout the process reminded me of when our markets go through tumultuous times. When things go straight up and everybody wants to jump in, we're patient.
When things go down and everything feels horrible, we're patient. We have a plan and a process, and it might be boring, but we stick to it. Quick thought this night. I hope you enjoyed it. If you have any questions, there's a link in the post.
We'd love to talk to you. Have a great day. Thanks.
