Hi there, James Mayer. Sunday night thought a few weeks back I was taking a flight from San Francisco to, uh, Detroit, and we'd gotten to the airport a little early and we're sitting at our gate waiting, uh, for time to pass. And there was a flight going to Seattle that was about to board in 20 minutes. Now, the next thing I know, something comes across the loudspeaker and its blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, Seattle flight, delayed three hours. Now, in this moment, I'm able to watch everyone surrounding me panic, not knowing if their connections are going to be messed up, not knowing if they're going to get home tonight, not knowing if they're going to be able to go to work tomorrow.
Everyone floods the gate agent. And what these people didn't realize is that announcement on the loudspeaker was about a different flight to Seattle. It wasn't their flight.
Luckily, the gate agent was eventually able to calm everybody down and get people boarded and off on their way. The reason I'm bringing this up in a Sunday night thought is that I think the same things happen for retirement and dealing with your investments. There's always going to be a loudspeaker telling you information, and some of it may not apply to you. Our philosophy is to get people set up with a plan for their retirement and to get them to not pay attention to all the outside noise, be it their friends, their family, the, the news media, the internet, wherever else they can find information that may not apply to their situation.
So, I thought I'd share the story. Quick thought. Have a great evening. Thank you.
