James E.Larsen, AAMS®, CFP®
Senior Vice President - Investment Officer
An international business management background that spanned 18 years, coupled with 20 + years of experience as a Financial Advisor, James E. Larsen is inimitably skilled to utilize a wide breadth of knowledge and resources in the support of his clients.
Jim’s objective is to provide serenity in assisting his clients; whether it be creating wealth, deriving income during retirement or preserving and passing along a legacy. Jim’s mission is to understand his client's needs and assist them in developing a knowledge base from which to form realistic expectations and a disciplined investment program. The foundation of Jim’s business is helping clients in the process of discerning what is truly important- their goals and objectives. By implementing longer-term risk management strategies designed to tune-out “white noise” and make “the market” seem irrelevant over time, Jim helps his clients plan for and generate tax-efficient paychecks during the “Self-Paced Lifestyle” portion of their lives and leave a legacy, as desired. Because irrational behavior can be more damaging than irrational markets, Jim works to minimize client procrastination and help them avoid errors, which can result when individuals, without a disciplined approach, react to the volatility of the financial markets. Jim ties his success to that of his clients and thrives on building long-term relationships.
Wells Fargo Advisors is a nationwide firm with a recognized culture of putting the client first and an emphasis of having the best trained consultants in the industry. Jim’s relationship with the firm was initiated in 1995. In that time, he has lived, first hand, the client focused culture from both sides of the conference table. In addition, through the College of Financial Planning, Jim is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® practitioner, and 2012-2024 Five Star Wealth Manager
Jim graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Miami University in Oxford, OH. His wife, JoAnn, is a counseling professional. His daughters, Jamie and Vanessa, graduated from Appalachian State, while son, Eric, graduated from NCSU. All 3 are utilizing their college degrees in pursuit of their career goals. Jim is a Paul Harris Fellow, as well as a Past President and current member of the Charlotte South Park Rotary Club. Jim is a regular donor with OneBlood of the Carolinas and has achieved the Lifesaver Award multiple times.
In addition to the knowledge obtained and the resources available through the firm, Jim has established local strategic alliances to help educate clients and assist with:
• lending and liability management
• accounting and tax management
• insurance
• estate planning
Business owners, executives and those in the midst of career transition have particularly benefited from Jim’s experience. Please feel free to call him today.
