Jim McClary is a seasoned wealth management leader with more than two decades of experience advancing advisor growth, operational excellence, and team performance across the Carolinas. As Associate Manager for the Chapel Hill Wealth office, he partners closely with financial advisors and support teams to help drive strong client outcomes, elevate practice management, and develop scalable, high-performing businesses. His leadership is grounded in a servant-leadership philosophy, emphasizing coaching, accountability, and building a culture of continuous improvement.
Since joining Wells Fargo Advisors in 2003, Jim has progressed through leadership roles of increasing responsibility, supporting hundreds of advisors and team members across dozens of branch locations. He has played a critical role in recruiting, onboarding, and successfully transitioning advisors to the firm across all platforms, helping to ensure seamless integration and positioning practices for long-term success. Jim is particularly focused on financial advisor readiness and development, implementing frameworks that accelerate productivity, deepen client engagement, and create sustainable growth trajectories.
Jim holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Francis Marion University and has contributed to multiple national councils and leadership forums, helping shape best practices in advisor development and transition strategy. Outside of work, he is actively engaged in his community, volunteers alongside his spouse, Angelynn, and is a licensed private pilot, reflecting his commitment to discipline, precision, and lifelong growth.
