David Kinnear, founder and leader of the Kinnear Private Wealth Management Group, has been helping a select group of high-net-worth clients navigate multiple market cycles for nearly 25 years. He takes a multi-generational approach to wealth management, serving client families for decades to help ensure short-term, long-term, and legacy needs are addressed, planned for, and adjusted as needed.

As a Private Wealth Financial Advisor and Managing Director - Investments, David draws on extensive personal knowledge gained working with wealth creators and is committed to continually evolving his skills to keep pace with the ever-expanding and increasingly complex needs of high-net-worth investors. He coordinates with his clients’ other professional advisors — such as attorneys, accountants, and trust administrators — to help ensure that their investment plan and overall wealth management strategy are cohesive and address the many facets of their financial life.

David earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Bucknell University and an MBA (Finance and Organizational Behavior) from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. While at Booth, he studied with Merton Miller1 and Richard Thaler2, who significantly influenced his approach to investment strategy, behavioral finance, asset allocation, and portfolio management. In the past, David has been recognized by various industry publications, including being named as one of Barron's Top 1,000 Financial Advisors in 20143 , 2012, 2011, 2009.

David serves on the Board of Trustees for The Cancer Research Foundation, which is one of the world’s leading Cancer Research Venture Philanthropists, making early investments in bold ideas in the fight against cancer. He’s also a member of the Parent Annual Giving Committee at the Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, CT.

David and his wife, Andrea, have been married since 1994 and have raised two sons and their Wired Haired Pointing Griffons. As stewards of a property formerly owned by the Boy Scouts of America, David and Andrea are dedicated to the conservation of Michigan’s Western Upper Peninsula and enjoy spending time there when not in Chicago or Indialantic, FL.
