Kris began her wealth management career in 1998 with Prudential Securities. She has been with Wells Fargo Advisors and its predecessor firms for the last 22 years. In order to work more holistically with her clients, Kris passed her CFP® exam in 2004 after graduating from Rice University’s School of Continuing Studies CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Certification Education Program. She then sought out and achieved the Certified Divorce Financial Analyst designation that same year.
Prior to becoming an Investment Advisor, Kris and her children lived in St. Louis, MO where she was an Executive Director with BeautiControl Cosmetics. Kris’s success was honored in 1991 by St. Peters, Missouri Chamber of Commerce when they selected her as the Small Business Person of the Year. A year later, she was awarded the title of 1992 Young Business Person of the Year. In 1992 Kris moved back to Texas to continue raising her family and build on her success with BeautiControl. The American Business Women’s Association chose her as the 1998 “Woman of Excellence” and as a result, the mayor of Stafford, TX recognized her success by naming April 2, 1999, “Kris Cobb Day”. She began her career as a wealth advisor in 1998 and over the past 2 decades, Kris’s passion for investment planning & commitment to her clients have been recognized by multiple organizations. Most recently, Kris earned the 2020 Premier Advisor award, which is a distinction held by a select group of Financial Advisors within Wells Fargo Advisors as measured by completion of educational components, business production and professionalism. Additional criteria, including length of service, may also be used to determine recipients.
Kris has a BS in Industrial Distribution from Texas A&M University and continues to be very active with Aggie alumni. She has four boys and lives in Sugar Land, Texas with the one son still at home and her four legged children – 2 cats and a dog. Kris also had the GREAT pleasure of becoming a first time grandma when her grandson made his debut in late December 2019!
Organizing events and being active in her community are two of Kris’ passions. She is the self-appointed social director in all aspects of her life – from hosting and cooking for family and friends at holidays to organizing client events. Kris recently became a board member of the Parks Youth Ranch in Fort Bend County and a board member of the Literacy Council of Fort Bend County. Kris is also a board member of the Houston Business Cabinet and a parishioner and lector at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Sugar Land, TX.
