From left to right - Kim, Jodi and Katie provide the key to serving our clients by providing a wide variety of services.
I grew up on a farm in southeast Minnesota, the youngest of sixteen children. Being from a large family, I learned how to work in a group. My parents would say, “The chicken coop needs to be painted” or “Walk the fence line on the back pasture, look for problems, and trim weeds.” They would then assign which brother or sister would work together. From there, we needed to work together as a team and accomplish the project. This taught me the importance of problem solving, cooperation, teamwork, and negotiation.
After Caledonia High School graduation, I remained in Caledonia, MN and commuted to La Crosse, WI where I worked for five years. From there, I attended Winona Area Technical Institute, where I graduated with a degree in Accounting. While in Winona, MN, I met and married my husband, Daniel Strange. We lived in Hopkins, MN for several years before moving to Chippewa Falls in 1989. During our time in Hopkins, I worked for several years in Eden Prairie in financing and cash management before becoming a stay-home mom for twelve years. I continued to care for our children at home during our move to Chippewa Falls, before returning to work for former Financial Advisor, Mike Markin, in 1998. I started part-time when my youngest daughter was in 1st grade and switched to full-time when she learned to drive.
The Markin Mickelson Financial Group of Wells Fargo Advisors is like a big family, where we work to accomplish your goals and dreams. My responsibilities include scheduling and preparing reports for client meetings, supporting clients during tax season, verifying cost basis, updating account information, and providing customer service. Getting to know our clients over the years has been the best part of working in this industry.
Dan and I have four grown children and several grandchildren. My interests include gardening, camping, quilting, painting, and antiquing. Sometimes I just collect ideas and inspiration – not sure that is a hobby, but I sure enjoy it!
Jodi works closely with clients to open new accounts, service existing accounts, answer client questions, and is also the groups managed account liaison. Jodi lives in Eau Claire, WI with her husband, Travis, and three children, Ally, Owen, and Caleb. In her spare time she enjoys reading and spending time with family and friends.
I was born in Madison, but grew up in a farm house on the outskirts of Jim Falls. The youngest of four children, I always had a friend to play with, a shoulder to lean on, and endless advice to live by. I loved growing up in a small town with a big family, and those experiences and values I learned so many years ago helped shape me into the person I am today. After high school, I attended Brooks College in Long Beach, California, were I graduated Valedictorian with a degree in Business Administration. Longing for the easy country living, I returned to Wisconsin and went on to attain my Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources and Business Management from the American Intercontinental University Online.
I met the love of my life, Andrew, in high school, and together we moved between Virginia and Florida during his nearly 8 year career in the US Navy. It was in Florida that we had our first daughter, Gabriella, when we decided it was time to come home to Chippewa Falls and raise our family. Since returning, we were blessed with two more children, Jeremiah and Adelynn, a dog Luna, and a cat Octavius Gustafson. Andrew continues to serve the community as a firefighter/paramedic for the Eau Claire Fire Department, in addition to volunteering with the Tilden Fire Department.
Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with our families, hunting, fishing, camping, running, and volunteering on the Women’s Axillary for the Tilden Fire Department. Our children are the center of our world and any opportunity that we get to teach them a life lesson, or just listen to them, we seize it.
Working in the wealth management industry for over 10 years, I have experience in client services and operations.
