Bryan Mayo

For Bryan, being an effective financial advisor certainly means managing investments, but it’s also about being there for his clients in ways that truly matter. Whether helping a family navigate a major life transition or simply picking up the phone when they need to talk, Bryan believes in relationships built on trust, empathy and long-term commitment. It’s this philosophy that has guided him for over three decades in the financial industry.
Growing the Seeds of Trust and Loyalty
Bryan’s journey didn’t start in finance. After earning his degree in Marketing from the University of Tennessee, he planned to continue his family’s legacy at Mayo Garden Centers—the oldest continuously run family business in East Tennessee.
After spending three years in the family business, he realized his passion lay elsewhere. At 26, he made the leap into wealth management at Shearson Lehman Brothers (later Smith Barney) before moving to UBS in 2004, where he refined his approach to high-touch advisory services.
In 2020, he transitioned to Wells Fargo Advisors, joining forces with a retiring advisor and further strengthening his commitment to serving clients with excellence. His son, Blake Mayo, Financial Advisor, joined the practice in 2022 after working in New York at UBS, making Mayo Wealth Management Group a true family business.
In addition to his deep experience guiding individual clients, Bryan also holds the Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist (CRPS®) certification, which qualifies him to specialize in creating, implementing and managing retirement plans for businesses and organizations, including 401(k), 403(b) and pension plans.
For all his clients, Bryan’s approach is simple: relationships first, always. He treats them like friends, offering a level of service that feels more like a partnership than a transaction. His personal experiences shape the way he supports others—including standing by a client’s family after their loss, taking late-night calls just to listen. That’s the kind of advisor—and person—he is.
Invested in Life Outside the Office, too.
Bryan enjoys golf, working out, cars and sports. He loves spending time with his large family and appreciates any chance to be outdoors. And while he chose a different career path, he still takes pride in his family’s deep roots in East Tennessee’s business community.
