Mary Sherrill Ware has been in the financial services industry since 2005, helping clients to develop smart, disciplined, and personalized financial strategies that thoughtfully consider their needs, goals, and tolerance for risk.
Mary began her career as a Financial Specialist with Wachovia Bank in Charlotte, NC, and in that role, she provided banking and lending advice to families and individuals. In 2006, Mary became a Financial Advisor within Wachovia Securities, a predecessor firm of Wells Fargo Advisors. She began working with fellow Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Advisors Angela Ostendarp and Jordan Raniszeski in 2011 to better serve clients by leveraging their combined experience.
Mary earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte’s Certified Financial Planning program and became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional in July 2008 by passing a rigorous examination and meeting a stringent experience requirement. In 2011, she attended the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and completed the Educational Component of the Certified Investment Management Analyst program and obtained the Certified Investment Management Analyst™ designation. Three years later, Mary received her Master of Business Administration from Wake Forest University, where she was also presented with their MBA Student Leadership Award.
In 2021, Mary was recognized as a Forbes Best-In-State Wealth Advisor. Previous years, 2020 and 2019, she was recognized by Forbes Magazine as a Forbes Best-In-State Next-Gen Wealth Advisor, named on the Forbes Top Women Wealth Advisors, included in the Working Mother’s Top Wealth Advisor list compiled by SHOOK Research and Working Mother Magazine.*
Mary strongly believes in the importance of financial literacy and is committed to investing her time and resources into charitable organizations. She previously served on the boards of directors at both Good Friends Charlotte and KIPP Charlotte, and she was a founding member of the World Economic Forum Global Shapers Charlotte Hub. Mary is also an alumna of Class 32 Leadership Charlotte program and is an active member of the Junior League of Charlotte, Women’s Impact Fund, Financial Planners Association of Charlotte, Investments & Wealth Institute, the Charlotte Chapter of the UNC General Alumnae Association, East Mecklenburg High School Alumnae Association, and Myers Park Methodist Church.
Away from the office, Mary enjoys cheering for the Tar Heels and spending time with her husband, Luke, daughter, Mary Lauren, and son, Miles, as well as friends, family, and their Boston Terrier, Effie.
