Confident Planning for a Complex World
Philip Searcy - Financial Advisor
Philip Searcy focuses on tax-efficient investment strategies and wealth management for aerospace, defense, and federal employees, predominantly engineers, program managers, and technical leaders with compensation structures that demand real depth. Philip leverages his technical background, along with the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor™ (CRPC™) designation, to help ensure clients receive high-quality service that blends an institutional investment perspective with personalized, hands-on guidance.
Philip's approach to financial advising flows from a deeply held belief in openhanded generosity, a conviction that true financial well-being means holding resources with an open hand, participating meaningfully in your community, and providing for the people and causes you care about most. He knows that life and markets are complex, and he is committed to helping clients stay ahead of economic shifts so they can confidently lead their businesses, provide for their families, and be generous with the resources they steward.
Philip partners with Financial Advisors Nicholas Damron and Mark Roberts, CFP®, to deliver comprehensive investment management and wealth strategies across the full range of his clients' financial lives. This includes deep expertise and focus on large corporate 401(k) plan structures, Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) pension optimization, Voluntary Early Retirement Authority (VERA) and Voluntary Separation Incentive Pay (VSIP) decisions, Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) strategy, and highly compensated employee (HCE) benefit packages, as well as equity compensation such as Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), Employee Stock Purchase Plans (ESPPs), Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs), and net unrealized appreciation (NUA) strategies for clients approaching retirement with significant company stock positions.
The team also supports retirement plan design for organizations in aerospace, defense, and federal contracting, helping businesses structure benefits that drive employee retention, align leadership compensation, and reduce plan costs.
With public and private sector experience spanning GE Aerospace and the U.S. Army Aviation & Missile Center, Philip brings firsthand, hands-on understanding of the benefits packages, retirement systems, and career transitions his clients face. He spent nearly a decade leading complex projects in manufacturing, quality, and supply chain management before transitioning into finance, and that engineering mindset shapes how he approaches every client relationship: analytically, systematically, and with a genuine investment in the outcome.
