David believes the foundation of personalized financial planning is based on a long-term trusted partnership between client and advisor.Background and Experience
David’s curiosity about the financial services industry ignited at an early age by watching the movie ‘Trading Places’. He began his career as a commodities broker in 1997 at a firm in Irvine, CA. He transitioned to becoming a Financial Advisor at Wamu/Chase Investments from 2003 to 2009. David continued expanding his expertise and client service by pursuing and earning the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM (CFP®) certification from the College for Financial Planning in 2006.David holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from California State University, Fullerton with an emphasis in behavioral finance.
David is currently pursuing the Chartered Market Technician® (CMT) credential.
Outside the Office
David, originally a native of Seattle and Alaska, moved to Southern California in 1991. He married Heidi Sipe (Schultz) in 2001, and together they have two daughters, Kelsie and Haylie. Heidi is from Bakersfield, and they moved to Bakersfield in 2004 to be closer to Heidi’s mom, who taught at Bakersfield High School for 32 years.
