Jay knows that since his clients have various goals and interests, they deserve an investment approach that reflects the needs, wants and hopes of those unique individuals.Background and Experience
Jay started in the financial services industry in 1986 with Dean Witter Reynolds. While at Dean Witter he not only learned how to invest in volatile markets, he also became the Assistant Branch Manager and was the first Senior Vice President in the Bakersfield office. In 2006 he moved his practice to UBS Financial Services to serve as the local producing Branch Manager. In March of 2018 he moved to Wells Fargo Advisors.Outside the Office
Before becoming a Financial Advisor, Jay enjoyed a very diverse series of life experiences. Starting in high school, Jay was a sports reporter for the Bakersfield newspaper and Swimming World magazine, which led him to obtain a B.A. degree in Journalism. Following college, Jay became the Director of Communications for Calcot, Ltd., during the time that cotton was one of the largest agriculture crops in California and Arizona. At age 28 Jay was elected to the Panama Union School Board of Education. Jay was a key proponent in the school merger that led to the formation of the Panama-Buena Vista School District. Jay served on the Board for 21 years.Jay is a graduate of Cal State University, Northridge, where he met his wife, Shannon. The Ericssons have two grown children and five grandchildren.
