James D. (Jim) Stanford joined Prudential Securities in September of 1993. To this day, he remains with the same firm, even though the name on the door has changed several times. Having begun his investment career in 1991 with a private trust company, he became securities registered in 1992 and moved his investment practice to Prudential Securities in 1993. Prudential Securities became Wachovia Securities (2006). In 2008, it became Wells Fargo Advisors. The Stanford Wealth Management Group of Wells Fargo Advisors, functions as a team with a well-diversified group of advisors and support staff.
Backed by the vast resources of Wells Fargo & Company, Wells Fargo Advisors, and many outside investment management firms, Jim's practice focuses on serving the planning and investment needs of his clients. As a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA®), his primary role is a consultant to corporate retirement plans, trusts, family limited partnerships, affluent individuals, and retirees from the Retirement Plans to which he consults. Through his affiliation with IMCA®, he attained the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) designation in 1999. He attends numerous industry conferences each year to remain informed of industry trends and legislative changes which may affect his clients. In recognition of his achievements, Jim has been awarded the Wells Fargo Platinum Council distinction from 2011-2023. The Platinum Council (previously known as Premier Advisor) distinction is held by a select group of Financial Advisors as measured by completion of educational components, business production based on the past year, and professionalism. Additional criteria, best practices, and team structure may also be used to determine recipients.
