Stephen R. Saal

    • Managing Principal
For nearly four decades, Steve has helped individuals and families create customized investment strategies by focusing on each client’s specific needs. In his extensive experience in the industry, Steve has guided clients through a multitude of market conditions. Consequently, prudent risk management has emerged as one of his top concerns while positioning his clients’ investment portfolios.

Steve began his career as an investment advisor with Wheat First Securities, a Wells Fargo Advisors predecessor firm, in 1980. After many years with WFA predecessor firms, Steve started Virginia Wealth Management Group in 2006, which offers products and services through Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network. Now, Steve and his team can give clients the feel of a boutique investment advisory practice with the same access to the vast resources of one of the world's premier financial companies.

Away from the office, Steve is an avid golfer and still enjoys playing competitively. A native of Ohio, he moved to Virginia Beach after attending Kent State University on a golf scholarship, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Marketing. Steve and his wife, Jane, have one daughter, Alex, who is a recent graduate of James Madison University, and is pursuing her Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy. Their son, Scott, is the Vice President of the practice. When not on the golf course, Steve enjoys spending time with his family, especially his favorite child, McKenzie (his English Labrador).
