Background and experience

I started my career with A.G. Edwards in 1998, which later became Wells Fargo Advisors. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Business - Financial Management from the University of New Mexico. In 2002, I earned the Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS®) designation awarded by the College for Financial Planning. I have been recognized to the Platinum Council from 2011-2012, and from 2014-2025. Within the Platinum Council, I have recently attained the rank of Ruby as of 2025. I was named among Barron’s Top 1,200 Financial Advisors in 2023 and 2025, and my team was awarded the Forbes Best-in-State Wealth Management Teams in 2025. Additionally, for the seventh consecutive year I’ve been awarded with the Forbes Best-in-State Wealth Advisors (2019-2025).

By focusing on each investors’ specific needs, I develop strategies that help clients reach their financial goals. My practice focuses on Portfolio Management with an emphasis on wealth accumulation, wealth preservation, and wealth transfer. It takes more than a single planning session to put your wealth to work in support of your life goals. It takes a well-planned process. As your life circumstances change, so must the investment strategies I use to help keep you on course toward your objectives. We’ll continue to work together through the years to keep your investment strategies aligned with your goals and needs. My practice includes Client Associates Nahlin Yanez, and Carlos Freyre, and Registered Client Associate Scott Desmarais. Together they have over 20 years combined financial services experience serving clients throughout the United States.

Background

My career began with an independent financial firm in 2012. I was able to obtain my registration and build the foundation of comprehensive investment planning. This allowed me to utilize my bachelor’s degree of Business with a focus in Finance to work and gain a depth of experience in the industry. In 2016, I moved to Wells Fargo Advisors to further my career. This move enhanced my abilities as an advisor and allowed me to best serve my clients and pursue greater goals as a professional. I also earned my Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA) designation to guide business owners as they grow their businesses and consider what is next for them.


Working with Clients

Life moves us through many financial stages and it is my pleasure to help clients navigate their financial lives with planning and investment strategies to achieve their goals. Learning who you are and understanding your interests and needs is the foundation I use to build your plan and investments. My work with clients focuses on investment planning, potential wealth accumulation, wealth transfer and charitable giving. As we work together, we will meet to review your investments and plan, and make adjustments when life changes. When you are put first, your investments and the strategy used for your goals will help you remain confident in your plan.


Away from the Office

My son, Alexander and my daughter, (Carolina) Lightning, are in elementary school and enjoying it. We also have our two spoiled Weimaraners, Judge and Daisy. Sports are a passion of ours – both as spectators and as athletes. I am a competitive runner and former NCAA Div I track & field athlete. Alexander and Lightning are enjoying tennis, skiing, basketball and hiking and I am thrilled to get back into these sports with them.

Nahlin joined Wells Fargo Advisors in 2021 as a Client Associate. She consistently strives to deliver the best service in each client interaction while meeting their needs with meticulous care.

She graduated from Florida International University with a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management. Nahlin has over 10 years of experience in business management and holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University, Florida.

Nahlin has lived in Mexico and Belize and speaks English and Spanish fluently. She enjoys hiking along with new food and travel experiences. Nahlin is a proud recipient of the 2025 Wells Fargo Advisors Platinum Client Associate Award¹.

Scott joined Wells Fargo Advisors in 2022 as a Client Associate, joining the Heffron Marlowe Investment Team of Wells Fargo Advisors in 2024. Scott is dedicated to a comprehensive approach when it comes to helping clients and making sure that all their needs are addressed timely and accurately. He puts an emphasis on knowledge, and always tries to demonstrate a commitment to personal and professional growth.

Born and raised in Albuquerque, Scott graduated from New Mexico State University in 2020 with a bachelor’s in finance. He recently became fully registered with his FINRA Series 7 and FINRA Series 66 securities registrations. Scott enjoys sports with a particular interest in basketball, golf, and rock climbing. Scott is a proud recipient of the 2025 Wells Fargo Advisors Platinum Client Associate Award¹.
