For more than three decades, Neal has helped individuals and families make confident financial decisions by providing clear guidance, disciplined investment management and a deeply personal approach to service. As a Senior PIM Portfolio Manager, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional, Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor™ and Retirement Income Certified Professional®, he is considered by his clients to be accessible, thoughtful and fully committed to understanding what matters most in their lives.
A Lifetime of Markets and Mentorship
Neal graduated from Boston University, where an internship at Lehman Brothers sparked his lifelong interest in markets. A former Boston University racquetball champion, he brought the same competitive drive into his first role at EF Hutton. He began producing in October 1987, on the day of the infamous “Black Monday” market crash. That unforgettable start shaped the calm, steady and disciplined approach he brings to investing today.
Over the years, Neal has held leadership roles at EF Hutton, Smith Barney, Prudential Securities and Wachovia Securities before joining Wells Fargo Advisors. Since age 21, he has remained active in the industry, continuously adapting to changing markets while keeping client relationships at the center of his practice.
Passionate, Personal and Practical
Neal specializes in portfolio management through the Private Investment Management (PIM) program, personally overseeing approximately 600 accounts and $750 million in client assets. His investment philosophy is practical and tax‑aware: make decisions that compound value over time, stay disciplined and always keep the client’s long‑term goals at the center. Recognized by Forbes as a Best‑In‑State Advisor from 2019 through 2025, he takes pride in the results he helps clients achieve and the relationships he builds with them.
Neal believes great service begins with listening. His team is structured to provide clients with continuity and responsiveness—his office doesn’t use voicemail during business hours, and clients know they will reach a real person who understands their situation. He also mentors the next generation of financial professionals, including team members Bryan Lenet, First Vice President – Investment Officer, Brian Kessler, Senior Registered Client Associate, Lydia Sweet, Client Associate and his son Eric Abravanel, Client Associate, ensuring that clients will receive a consistent process and support for years to come.
Service Beyond the Office
Neal and his wife, Linda, have been married since 1992. They enjoy golf, tennis and travel together. A devoted father, Neal trained middle schoolers as referees to instill confidence and responsibility for more than 20 years. An avid athlete, he still plays racquetball, tennis, squash and pickleball.
