Roger earned a BS/BA degree at Appalachian State University, with majors in both Marketing and Management.
Beginning his career with J.C. Bradford, Roger started his tenure at Wells Fargo Advisors with the merger of A.G. Edwards & Sons/Wachovia Securities and Wells Fargo Advisors. Having been through numerous changes and major market shifts in the financial industry, Roger’s extensive experience has allowed him to help clients plan and work toward successfully meeting financial goals for a possibly more secure future.
Roger earned the Wells Fargo Advisors Platinum Council distinction in 2008, 2011, 2020, & 2021 (1) and was awarded the Platinum Council Manager designation in 2024.(2) He also holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification. Roger is experienced at utilizing retirement and trust funds to help solidify his clients’ financial goals. Roger has testified before the US Congress on the security of retirement income.
Roger has written a bi-weekly Op-Ed column for The Asheville Citizen-Times, and for ten years, provided the morning business report for WLOS-TV in Asheville. He served as a member of and vice-chairman for the UNC Board of Governors and currently serves as Chairman of the UNC-Asheville Board of Trustees. Roger previously served on the Asheville Chamber of Commerce, and on the Buncombe County Board of Education, including two terms as chairman.
A native of Asheville, Roger and his wife Renee have raised two sons in the community. Their son Tyler is a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill with a master’s from Johns Hopkins. Tyler served as Legislative Correspondent for a U.S. Senator and is currently employed with Wells Fargo Advisors in Hickory, NC. Their son Blake also a UNC undergraduate, received his master’s from Wake Forest. Blake is currently employed as a Senior Associate with Fundrise in Washington, DC. They are the proud grandparents to three granddaughters, Finley, Rosemary, and Lainey.
Roger and Renee attend Alexander Baptist Church, where Renee plays piano, and Roger teaches Sunday school classes. The Aiken family devotes time to performing community and civic service in Asheville.

David began his career with A.G. Edwards and Sons, a predecessor of Wells Fargo Advisors where he developed the foundation of his Investment Management practice. His passion for providing the highest quality advice to clients fueled his quest for knowledge. In 2005, David earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification and in 2008 he earned the Certified Investment Management Analyst designation. He was required to complete an approved educational program, passing a rigorous examination and meeting stringent experience and continuing education requirements. David graduated from St. Cloud State University with degrees in Business and Communications. He went on to management positions with professional baseball teams including the Asheville Tourists.
Away from the office, David spends time with his wife, Traci, a retired teacher, and two children, John (23) and Elizabeth (17). They provide leadership in many capacities at Emmanuel Lutheran Church as well as in the community helping UNCA, ABCCM, YMCA, and various other local organization. David enjoys spending time with John at NC State University cheering on the Wolfpack. He is also busy assisting Elizabeth with her volleyball and educational pursuits.

Before entering the financial services industry, Larry earned a bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Georgia Tech. He spent several years in business and technology consulting, working with Fortune 500 companies—a background that provides an analytical and consultative approach to investment planning.
Larry is actively involved in the Waynesville community. He serves on the Waynesville Rotary Foundation Board and volunteers as a Cataloochee Ski Patroller on weekends. Tyler began his career as a Financial Advisor in early 2015 in Charlotte, NC with Wells Fargo Advisors-Solutions. With a desire to work more closely with clients in a community, Tyler moved to Wells Fargo Advisors in Hickory, NC in 2016. Tyler has been fortunate to work closely with Financial Advisors who have over 40 years of financial experience in the Hickory area, and across Western North Carolina. Tyler has seen firsthand the impact that personalized investment planning and portfolio management service can have on a client’s life. Shaina began her career with Wells Fargo Advisors in 2010. She began working as a Client Associate in the Hendersonville office as an assistant to 3 Financial Advisors. In her role as a Client Associate, Shaina quickly began learning the business as well as her passion to assist clients and their investment needs.
At the beginning of 2012, Shaina took advantage of an opportunity to further her knowledge and experience in the industry and transferred to the Asheville office as the Operations Liaison for the Asheville Complex. As an Operations Liaison, she was responsible for many operational functions and worked closely with the Operations Manager.
During this time, Shaina pursued her securities registrations and successfully completed the Series 7 and Series 66 securities registrations. Shaina also earned a BS degree in Business with University of Phoenix.
By the end of 2013, another opportunity was presented to Shaina to return to her previous role as a Registered Client Associate. Her passion and desire to work more closely with clients drove her back to this role. Shannon Carlock joined Wells Fargo Advisors in 2004, beginning her career as a Client Associate in the Asheville office, where she supported four Financial Advisors. By 2007, she had earned her securities registrations, successfully completing both the Series 7 and Series 66 examinations.
As a Senior Registered Client Associate, Shannon plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional client service. Known for her professionalism, integrity, and leadership, she serves as the primary point of contact for most client inquiries—efficiently addressing requests or directing them to the appropriate team member.
Before transitioning to the financial services industry, Shannon worked as the Head Registered Veterinary Technician at a local veterinary hospital. There, she specialized in surgical care and staff management. Her background in veterinary medicine has brought a unique level of precision and operational efficiency to her current role.
Shannon and her husband, Jesse, relocated to Waynesville, NC in 1998 and immediately felt at home in the community. They welcomed their daughter, Martha, in 2010. They are a self-proclaimed “Disney family” and also enjoy hiking, swimming, and spending time with their six dogs and two cats.

During her years with Wells Fargo Bank, Jessica attended Mars Hill University as a full-time student, earning her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management as well as a second Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice.
In 2013, Jessica’s passion for client service and her eagerness to learn more about the financial industry opened an opportunity for her to move forward into Wealth Management. She took on a role as a Client Service Associate with Morgan Stanley in Asheville, North Carolina where she assisted 3 Financial Advisors. In March of 2017, another opportunity was presented allowing Jessica to transition back to Wells Fargo. A company, that in prior years encouraged her success and supported her while attending college, made the decision easy for her. As a native of Vale, NC, Jackie took the opportunity to work in her home community when a Mentor, former Client Associate Tressa Cline, announced her retirement from the Hickory, NC office in June 2024. In July 2024, she joined the Aiken Meyer Whatley Private Wealth Management Group of Wells Fargo Advisors, where she currently manages the practice’s wealth planning software. Driven by a passion for delivering exceptional client experiences, Ashlie is eager to further her expertise and work toward becoming a licensed member of the team.
Outside the office, Ashlie enjoys traveling with her husband, Bryce, attending events across the country. An avid reader and outdoor enthusiast, she also has a lifelong passion for music-- having played piano since the age of three and winning multiple singing and talent competitions over the years.
