Financial Advisor Ian Beed's Biography

I’m the proud child of an immigrant who made his way to this country and embraced the American Dream. Growing up in La Jolla, much of my childhood was filled with going to the beach, visiting the zoo, and flying kites at Kate Sessions Park.

After spending my high school day’s running track and playing football, I embraced the offer of a small school in the heart of Missouri to come and play football on scholarship.

During my redshirt season however, I took on a myriad of injuries and at the end of the year, I decided it would be better for my body and mind to give up the sport I loved. I transferred away and eventually ended up at the University of California, Santa Barbara where I would end up graduating with a bachelor’s degree in 2019.

During my summer breaks, I would come home and work for my father where I would perform tasks such as breaking down client portfolios, assessing client risk and creating foundations for goals-based analyses among other duties. While on with my dad during these years I got firsthand look at the way in which he conducts his business. The transparency and care that he offered to every client in his book aligned with my own personal codes and ethics, and so after some discussion together we decided that I would come aboard as his associate.

I started to prepare and complete my licensing exams in early 2020 when COVID-19 hit our country and postponed the process. By the time my training and onboarding were complete, it was September of that year and that is when the rubber met the road. Working under my father has given me a unique opportunity to learn from a true professional with over forty years of experience in the industry. Now we work together to understand the needs and wants of our clients and guide them towards their goals. With my freshly acquired CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® designation, I am looking forward to bringing a heightened level of service and knowledge to all of our current and future clients.

Outside the office, I can often be found enjoying the outdoors. In the spring and summer, I like taking extended road trips to visit, camp and hike in our nation’s epic national parks. When winter arrives, I head to the mountains, where I’m an avid snowboarding enthusiast.
