To meet your responsibilities under ERISA, the plan should have an investment policy statement to guide the investment decision-making process. The investment policy statement should provide general guidelines for investment selection and monitoring. This helps the plan fiduciaries demonstrate they have fulfilled their responsibilities and provides documentation.
