Private Wealth Financial Advisor

Philip Cowen currently serves as a Private Wealth Financial Advisor. A Private Wealth Financial Advisor from Wells Fargo Advisors is committed to a holistic, personal approach to serving high-net-worth individuals, families, foundations, and institutions. They work closely with Wells Fargo Bank specialists to provide their clients with access to guidance across many aspects of wealth planning, wealth transfer, lending needs, philanthropy, family dynamics, and fiduciary services through Wells Fargo affiliates. This elevated level of service is designed to support each client’s full financial picture to help them preserve and grow their wealth across generations.

PIM Portfolio Manager

Philip Cowen also holds the Private Investment Management (PIM) Portfolio Manager designation. A PIM Portfolio Manager is a specially trained Financial Advisor to manage client’s investment portfolios in a discretionary manner, guided closely by the research recommendations and collective insights of Wells Fargo Securities and external research firms whose services we subscribe to. Each portfolio follows an investment plan customized to the client’s needs and may represent a blend of stocks, cash alternatives, exchange traded funds, closed end funds and allowable mutual funds.

Wells Fargo Advisors’ PIM Portfolio Managers must meet eligibility requirements which include a minimum of two years of experience as a portfolio manager, five years of industry experience, and successful completion of securities exams. They complete advanced training, including an ethics exam, proxy exam and a 40-hour portfolio management training course.

Chartered Financial Analyst

Philip also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation. A Financial Advisor who has earned the CFA®designation has demonstrated skill in investment analysis, valuing assets, portfolio management, and wealth planning. A CFA® professional must hold a bachelor’s or equivalent degree from a college or university, have 4,000 hours of qualified work experience in the investment decision-making process, and provide at least two professional reference letters. These professionals then must complete three in-person, proctored, closed-book exams.
