J. Douglas Riva, CLU, CFP, ChFC
Senior Financial Advisor
Managing Director - Investments
Doug is a Senior Financial Advisor, Managing Director-Investments and PIM® Portfolio Manager at Wells Fargo Advisors where he works with retirees, corporate executives, and business owners to help them determine, prioritize, and achieve their financial goals. He develops plans tailored to each client's needs, adjusting plans over time as financial or life changes occur. Doug places a premium on communication and client service. He specializes in investment advice in business services, education funding and 529 plans, estate planning strategies, and retirement planning, among others.
Doug builds custom portfolios for his clients and actively tracks the investments. He is one of a select few advisors at Wells Fargo Advisors to complete the Private Investment Management (PIM)* program, a discretionary trading platform allowing him to adjust client portfolios in real time. Markets can change fast, and it is important to him that, as steward of his clients' capital, he is able to respond quickly.
Previously, Doug worked as a Financial Advisor at Merrill Lynch for over 17 years. Prior to that, at Acacia Financial Group for 5 years and at Prudential Financial Group for 10 years. Doug believes that his time at Prudential writing and selling insurance policies has given him a unique perspective (and advantage) in his current role, allowing him to better analyze a client's risk and insurance needs.
Doug enjoys golfing, hiking, and spending time with his wife, four children, and golden retrievers.
