Background and experience
Darel has been providing financial advice to families and small business for over two decades. With extensive experience throughout major shifts in the markets, Darel has dedicated his career to delivering the personalized investment planning services his clients deserve.
He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. He served as an Army Officer for 23 years both on active duty and in the Virginia Army National Guard as a helicopter pilot and Russian linguist. This included two combat area deployments. His initial entry into the financial world was as a preparer, office manager, and instructor for a tax firm. He eventually found that his true calling was to provide broader financial advice and not tax advice. His professional goal is to assist clients in building, preserving, and perpetuating their wealth through investments, liability protection, and legacy planning.
Away from the office
He is married with three children, two boys and a girl. They are now all grown and off on their own. He is active in several national and local non-profit organizations. He and his family love to travel not only to see and enjoy new places but also to expose themselves to other cultures. His favorite recreational activities are fishing, golfing, skiing, and hiking. His personal goal is to build a lasting legacy for his family for generations by promoting the active pursuit of fiscal responsibility, moral and professional excellence, stewardship, and service to our nation.
