As Managing Director – Investments of Godwin Gounaris Woolbert Investment Group, Joe is responsible for leading the development of the team’s client-first philosophy and business strategy. His focus includes liability management, wealth transfer and philanthropic strategies.
With 26 years of experience in the financial services industry, Joe provides leadership in private wealth management, institutional consulting and navigation of the global capital markets to our clients.
In addition to his leadership experience, Joe has been advising individuals and managing their assets for 19 years. He began his career in the industry at Goldman Sachs in their Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities division, where he advised institutions representing over $125 billion in assets under management on fixed income portfolio strategy and investment management. He transitioned to Goldman’s Private Wealth Management Group, and later to the Credit Suisse Private Bank, before joining Wells Fargo Advisors in 2016.
Joe’s experience includes management and consulting over a 13 year career at IBM. He has a bachelor’s degree in biology from Lafayette College and earned a master’s of business administration from the Stern School of Business at New York University.
Joe and his wife Eileen have two adult children and live in Bucks County, Pa. He is formerly an advisory board member of the McDonogh Group at Lafayette College and advised The National Urban Technology Center.
More than 35 years of industry experience have provided Rich Woolbert with extensive capital markets knowledge and an in-depth understanding for investment planning. As a Managing Director – Investments with Godwin Gounaris Woolbert Investment Group, Rich is responsible for investments and client relationships, with a focus on overall investment strategy for the team, asset allocation, fixed income strategies, investment planning and alternative investment strategies.
Rich has been advising individuals and managing their assets for 20 years. He began his career in the financial services industry with Bankers Trust Company as a Commercial Lending Officer. After graduate school he worked for Goldman Sachs' Fixed Income, Currency and Commodity division, where he advised institutions representing over $175 billion in assets on fixed income portfolio strategy and investment management. He then transitioned to Goldman’s Private Wealth Management Group and later the Credit Suisse Private Bank before joining Wells Fargo Advisors in 2016.
Rich earned his MBA from the Darden School at the University of Virginia and received a bachelor's degree in finance from Lehigh University.
Rich and his wife, Lisa, have two adult children and live in Center City Philadelphia, where they are active with both the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Mann Center for the Performing Arts. Rich is an avid golfer and enjoys traveling with his family.
Gary Gounaris is a thoughtful, earnest and versatile professional who is proud of his three decades of experience in the financial services industry. His career has provided him with a diverse range of client relationships that are highly personal in nature, while still focused on the customized goals of each client family. Given the interwoven nature of many facets of a client's life and relationships, he especially enjoys helping clients connect and simplify the dots across their life, and ensuring any actions align with their financial goals and life objectives. Gary focuses on three ingredients that he believes are the hallmark traits for a successful outcome in client relationships: empathy for the client's life experiences and current view of their future; wise and purposeful counsel for the short- and long-term; and holistic planning in investment and life goals.
As a Managing Director - Investments with Godwin Gounaris Woolbert Investment Group, Gary creates customized approaches that are designed to minimize risks and taxes while maximizing savings and income potential. In this role, Gary functions similarly to the COO for a family office. Specifically, he manages the day-to-day operations as well as the seamless process among team members, such as equity portfolio management, asset allocation, and all aspects of wealth planning, including his specialization area of trust and estates.
Gary has focused exclusively on his Private Wealth Management business for the past 20 years. However, he began his early career in financial services at Citibank, as a Senior Relationship Manager in their North American Finance Group. Subsequently, he spent seven years leading teams within Goldman Sachs’ Global Securities Services area and was responsible for more than 40 hedge fund clients with over $3 billion in assets. Gary then transitioned to Goldman Sachs’ Private Client Services group, where he began advising and managing wealth for highly affluent families. Prior to joining Wells Fargo Advisors in 2016, Gary enjoyed seven years with his team at Credit Suisse’s Private Bank.
Gary earned his Juris Doctor from Fordham University's School of Law and received his bachelor's degree in economics from Fordham University. However, he is not practicing due to his exclusive focus on his financial service clients.
Gary lives in the Valley Forge area with his wife, daughter and son. He enjoys coaching his children’s multiple sports teams, and he is also an active member of his community, such as serving on the Open Space committee. In his free time, Gary is an avid reader and history buff. He is also a fitness and outdoor enthusiast, including hiking, biking and adventure travel with his family.
Katie utilizes more than 15 years’ experience as she works closely with Godwin Gounaris Woolbert Investment Group’s financial advisors and directly with clients to help implement investment strategies and to serve clients’ needs. As Senior Registered Client Associate, she is responsible for the team's administrative operations, which include customer service, account documentation, regulatory filing, and daily cash management. Her top priority is to provide every client with exceptional personal service.
Before her time with Wells Fargo Advisors, Katie spent seven years at Credit Suisse and eight years at Goldman Sachs. She earned her bachelor's degree in finance and marketing at Temple University.
Throughout her career, she has assisted clients with all administrative issues pertaining to their accounts, as well as implementation of wealth planning, generational wealth transfers and diversification/hedging strategies for highly concentrated stock holdings. Katie also works closely with clients to facilitate daily and monthly cash management needs, trading, and ongoing account maintenance. If necessary, Katie can also work closely with attorneys and accountants on clients' behalf during tax season and throughout the year.
Katie lives in Bucks county with her husband and two boys. She and her family love the outdoors, traveling on road trips, taking care of their small hobby farm, and are very active with their local youth sports soccer club.
Sarah joined Godwin Gounaris Woolbert Investment Group in May of 2018 as a Client Associate. In this position, she focuses on servicing each client with their financial needs and goals. More specifically, she takes on the tasks of account documentation, account opening and maintenance, cash management, and overall customer service. She leads the team’s social media and digital marketing efforts, while serving as the primary marketing analyst for their sports and entertainment segment.
Sarah graduated from Valparaiso University with a bachelor’s of science in exercise science and human biology, and she was a member of their Division I women’s basketball team.
Before her time with Wells Fargo Advisors, Sarah worked in the healthcare field as an assistant to a physical therapist, helping patients recover from injuries, illnesses or chronic conditions to regain strength, movement, manage pain and return back to the quality of life they once had.
Sarah currently lives in Center City Philadelphia, where her interest in fashion and interior design began to flourish. She enjoys watching all sports and although she is retired from her basketball career, Sarah is still an exercise enthusiast and loves partaking in different fitness classes around the city. Along with traveling, her other true passions are helping animals and partaking in volunteer work at shelters.
