John W. Gilroy, III, CIMA

Background and experience
For over 40 years, John has helped clients address their investment goals and develop sound strategic strategies by focusing on each individual’s needs. With extensive experience navigating through major shifts in the markets, John has dedicated his career to delivering the personalized investment planning services his clients deserve.
John began his career in 1985 with Paine Webber in San Diego where he developed his fundamental investment knowledge. He joined Prudential Securities (a predecessor of Wells Fargo Advisors) in 1992.
In 2000, John earned his Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) credentials from the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA). From 1988-1992 John was the business reporter for 760 KFMB; a popular AM radio station in San Diego.
Away from the office
John grew up in Monterey, California and graduated from Robert Louis Stevenson in Pebble Beach. During that time, John was an avid swimmer, played water polo and was a member of the sailing team. John’s interest in water sports led him to the California Maritime Academy where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree and his Third Mates license. Upon graduation, John was hired by Tidewater Marine and worked his way through the ranks eventually becoming Captain of the Tidewater vessels.
After meeting his wife Sue, John decided to “Come ashore” and make a career change. Together they have a son David and a daughter Taylor. John was on the board of directors for the Boys & Girls Club of San Dieguito from 2003 until 2015, “creating a positive place for kids”. In 2009, John began a new endeavor in cycling. Since beginning his cycling endeavor, John has helped raise money for challenged athletes through the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF). John has participated multiple times in the CAF Million Dollar Challenge: a group of 100 cyclists begin their ride in San Francisco California and finish a week later in La Jolla California travelling 620 miles on a bike.

Gina Wu, CFP, CPWA
Financial Advisor
Background and experience
Gina seeks first to understand her clients’ current situation, concerns, risk tolerance, and their financial priorities. She then uses this information to formulate an investment strategy and begins the development of a comprehensive investment plan. This plan is reviewed on a timely basis and as her clients’ life circumstances change, the appropriate adjustments are made.
Gina began her career at an insurance company in 2008. In 2018, she earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification. The CFP® certification identifies those individuals who have met the rigorous experience and ethical requirements of the CFP Board and have successfully completed coursework on financial topics in the following areas: general principles of financial strategies, insurance planning and risk management, employee benefits planning, and retirement and estate planning strategies. CFP® certificants also agree to meet ongoing continuing education requirements. Prior to joining the financial services industry, Gina earned her B.S. in Financial Planning Services at San Diego State University.
Away from the office
Gina is committed to helping her community. She is currently involved with the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization and have been matched with her Little Sis for since 2010. She also participates in the Junior Achievement program to educate young children about financial literacy and teach them lessons to positively impact the lives of young people.
A SoCal native, Gina and her husband, Jeff reside in San Diego. They have two children. She enjoys traveling with her family, snowboarding, playing volleyball and yoga.

Kim is well versed in many facets of our day to day operation and client experience. Including but not limited to facilitating new accounts, managing the transfer of assets, operationally and administratively maintaining client accounts, investigational inquiries, trading/asset allocation and most importantly, servicing our clients.
Kim helps ensure that each client comes away with a sense of comfort knowing they have a reliable and efficient resource working on their behalf. Armed with 29 years of experience, Kim maintains a Series 7 & 66 license in addition to a California Insurance license.
Away from the office
In addition to her unrelenting quest for knowledge and passion for financial independence, Kim is an active volunteer within her community. Occasionally volunteering as a Cuddler in the neonatal intensive care unit or with Wells Fargo Advisors on various community projects, Kim enjoys giving back to her community. Kim recently joined her local chapter of the sons and daughters of Pearl Harbor Survivors; hoping to learn more and help preserve our history.
Kim and her husband Jason are self-proclaimed rock-hounds. You can often find them “Digging for Gemstones” at one of several local Tourmaline mines here in San Diego. Vacations often surround “treasure hunting” at other mines open to the public around the United States.
Kim enjoys playing softball, tennis, skiing, bowling, Pilates, the beach, camping, off roading, dining with friends, gardening and watching football. Kim is an avid Denver Bronco fan. Kim, her husband Jason their son Landon live in La Mesa.
