Mr. Schaffer is a Financial Advisor with Wells Fargo Advisors. His practice focuses on a select group of wealthy families where he helps those families create a wealth plan that that is flexible enough to meet their goals during life, succession periods and at death. Mr. Schaffer and his team pride themselves on creating a family office experience where communications are answered promptly and where business gets done. Mr. Schaffer’s other core practice area is helping significant nonprofit organizations with their investment management, governance and charitable objectives. Mr. Schaffer was raised in the Midwest where his family has been involved in agriculture and real estate for generations. He also served in the United States Marine Corps, and he earned degrees in accounting and law from the University of Nebraska with honors. Mr. Schaffer practiced law for a large law firm where his practice focused on estate, wealth transfer, business succession and charitable planning. Mr. Schaffer is a member of the South Dakota and Nebraska bar associations but note that Wells Fargo Advisors does not provide legal or tax advice. In 2012, Mr. Schaffer began managing a wealth department for a large regional bank. In 2019, Mr. Schaffer joined Wells Fargo Private Bank managing some of the bank’s most important clients. In 2024, Mr. Schaffer joined Wells Fargo Advisors to bring a family office environment to his client base. Mr. Schaffer lives in the country outside of Sioux Falls with his wife and two sons. In his spare time, he enjoys activities with his family such as horse training, playing golf, fishing, hunting and traveling.
