Hyeon Kang has dedicated his career to guiding ultra-affluent clients in deploying, growing, stewarding, and transferring their wealth effectively. With over 20 years of experience in wealth management and investing, Hyeon advises institutional investors, nonprofits, business owners, senior executives, entrepreneurs, and multi-generational families on navigating the opportunities and challenges of significant wealth.
Deeply immersed in the capital markets, Hyeon is a Wells Fargo Advisors Private Investment Management (PIM®) Portfolio Manager*— a distinction reserved for a select group of advisors who are rigorously vetted to manage discretionary portfolios. As a PIM Portfolio Manager, he undergoes ongoing quantitative and qualitative reviews to ensure the integrity and performance of his investment strategies. Hyeon’s expertise spans market analysis, risk assessment, asset allocation, portfolio construction, and security selection. He tailors each investment strategy to align with his clients’ goals, time horizons, and priorities, including future cash-flow needs, wealth transfer objectives, and tax considerations.
Hyeon joined Wells Fargo Advisors in 2025, following over a decade as a Senior Portfolio Manager and Senior Vice President at Merrill Lynch, a role he held since 2015. Earlier in his career, he gained extensive experience at Morgan Stanley, where he also served as a Senior Portfolio Manager and Senior Vice President.
His extensive experience is complemented by the tenure and trust of his long-standing team—many of whom have worked together for more than 20 years. Hyeon believes that continuity and consistency form the foundation of an exceptional client experience, and he takes pride in leading a cohesive team with a culture of diligence, care, and collaboration dedicated to exceeding client expectations.
A graduate of the University of Washington, Hyeon earned both his undergraduate degree and MBA, and was a member of the nationally ranked UW Men’s Soccer program. Passionate about giving back, he supports a number of philanthropic organizations, including Union Gospel, World Vision, Mercy Ships, Medical Teams International, Timberlake Church, and Hungry Church.
Hyeon and his wife, Marla, cherish time with their three children and remain deeply committed to faith, family, and community.
