Known for his ability to simplify complex financial topics and build genuine relationships, Zach brings an approachable, transparent style while helping clients feel confident, informed and supported in every stage of their financial journey.
A Modern Path into Financial Services
Zach earned his Bachelor of Arts in Policy Management, with a minor in Economics, from Dickinson College. He began his career outside of financial services in sales and marketing, managing large client relationships across Philadelphia, Jersey City and Hoboken. He later worked in advertising and marketing at Discovery Communications in New York City, gaining experience in communication, strategy and client engagement.
In 2017, Zach transitioned into financial services with Wells Fargo Advisors. He initially served in a Financial Relationship Advisor role, supporting multiple advisors while building his own client base. His path into the business was further shaped through a succession plan with his uncle, a longtime advisor, and continued as he participated in additional team transitions. In 2023, he co-founded the Kolter & Yocum Financial Group, helping establish a collaborative, forward-looking practice.
An Approachable, Education-First Philosophy
Zach focuses on tax-efficient investing and estate planning strategies, working closely with clients to build strategies designed for long-term success. Working with David Kolter, Managing Director – Investments, he operates within a team-based model that blends investment strategy with comprehensive wealth planning strategies.
Clients value Zach’s accessibility and responsiveness, as well as his commitment to clear, transparent communication. He takes time to explain not just what to do, but why—helping ensure clients understand the reasoning behind each decision. His relationship-first approach prioritizes long-term partnerships with individuals and families seeking thoughtful guidance rather than transactional advice.
Life Beyond Finance
Zach lives in Central Pennsylvania with his wife, Bree, whom he married in 2024. Together they enjoy exploring local restaurants, businesses and outdoor destinations. They share their home with their Bernedoodle, Oakley.
A former varsity swimmer, Zach competed at a high level in college, holding school and conference records and qualifying for NCAA competition. Today, he enjoys staying active, traveling and giving back through volunteer efforts with local food banks and community organizations.
