I work closely with individuals, families, and institutions to formulate plans that help them achieve what is most important to them. The process starts with an in-depth understanding of the values and goals that drive them. I then provide a roadmap to help bring clarity and confidence to achieving desired outcomes.

After graduating from Southern Methodist University with bachelors’ degrees in Mathematics, Economics, and Management Science, I worked for two years as a systems engineer at Raytheon. I have always been analytical and detail oriented. Since joining Wells Fargo Advisors in 2012, I have applied these skills to providing guidance to clients with varying degrees of complexity. I earned my CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification in 2017 after meeting the coursework and industry experience requirements and passing the rigorous exam. I have earned the distinction of Platinum Council with Wells Fargo Advisors for the years 2017-2022, and I was named to the Forbes list of Top Next Gen Wealth Advisors in 2017 and 2018 as well as the Forbes Top Next-Gen Wealth Advisors Best-In-State list in 2019.

I grew up in Plano, TX, where I played football, basketball, and lacrosse. I stay active now by doing CrossFit most mornings and playing golf. I am passionate about traveling the world and taking on new adventures with my wife and son.

*The Platinum Council (previously known as Premier Advisor) distinction is held by a select group of Financial Advisors within Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network as measured by completion of educational components, business production based on the past year, and professionalism. Additional criteria, best practices and team structure, may also be used to determine recipients.
*The Forbes Top Next-Gen Wealth Advisors Best-in-State rating algorithm is based on the previous year’s industry experience, interviews, compliance records, assets under management, revenue and other criteria by SHOOK Research, LLC. Investment performance is not a criterion. Self-completed survey was used for rating. This rating is not related to the quality of the investment advice and based solely on the disclosed criteria.

I was raised by a single mom and learned at a very young age that education, planning, and execution was key to have success in this life.

I currently help busy entrepreneurs, business owners and wealthy families make informed decisions about their money so they can spend more time focusing on what’s most important to them.

I use a comprehensive process to help our clients address these potential key concerns: making smart decisions about their money, potentially mitigating their taxes, taking care of their heirs, making sure their assets are not unjustly taken and magnifying their charitable gifts. We work with a network of professional advisors to help our clients maximize the probability of achieving their goals.

I graduated from Southwestern A/G University with my Bachelor’s degree in Business Management in 2003.  I started my career as a Financial Advisor in 2005 and it’s been the most rewarding opportunity. I wake up every morning thinking about how I can add value to the many I serve and call my work family.

Away from the office, I spend time with my wife, Daisy, and three daughters, Jayla, Sariah and London.  I enjoy creating experiences with extended family members and friends, watching a comedy movie or show, playing golf and anything that revolves around fitness.

I am dedicated to helping clients manage life changes and make myself available to assist them.

I have more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry and am a Senior Registered Client Associate.  For 20 years, I held manager positions and have returned to my first love…working with clients.  I provide administrative and operational support, interfacing with clients in all aspects of an account relationship, including entering trades, opening new accounts, check disbursements, account title changes, transfer of assets, estate claims and etc.  I also assist in marketing campaigns and seminar presentations, and the preparation of client reports for portfolio reviews.

Before working in the financial services industry, I attended Adams State College in Colorado for 2 years and graduated from Sierra Pacific Bible College in 1993.  I am married to Kevin Surratt and we have a son named Jesse.  I am an active participant in my church and my favorite pastime is reading historical mystery novels.
