Matthew Russell, CFP, CRPC

Financial Advisor

I provide comprehensive and customized investment planning strategies to my valued clients. As a trusted advisor, I work diligently to assist clients throughout the different stages of their lives. I started my career as a Financial Advisor with Merrill Lynch in 2000 and joined Wells Fargo Advisors in 2012. In 2005, I earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification by passing a rigorous examination and meeting stringent experience requirements. I also earned my Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor CRPC® designation in 2010. I graduated from Michigan State University and have spent most of my life in the Traverse City area. I'm a parishioner at Christ the King Catholic Church in Traverse City, and I'm a member of the Traverse City Elks Club. I serve on the Board of the Traverse City Country Club and the Eagles for Children Committee, and I'm a long-time member of the Adams Chapter of Trout Unlimited. I also achieved Eagle Scout rank with the Boy Scouts of America's Troop 34 of Traverse City. Outside of the office, I spend time with my wife Adrienne and 3 children, Madison, Garrett, and Evelyn. I also enjoy hunting and fishing in Northern Michigan with family and friends at my cabin on the Manistee River. Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Center for Financial Planning, Inc. owns and licenses the certification marks CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®, and CFP® (with plaque design) in the United States to Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc., which authorizes individuals who successfully complete the organization’s initial and ongoing certification requirements to use the certification marks.
