As the Director of Business Development, Alex is responsible for leading the strategic expansion of the company both internally and externally. Internally, Alex will assist the team as we identify, evaluate and implement best practices that will allow us to serve our clients well in the future. Externally, Alex is tasked with leading the company’s efforts to build and strengthen relationships with business and community leaders across South Florida.
Alex brings more than 20 years of experience in community relations, philanthropy, communications, and partnership development, having held senior leadership roles with nationally recognized companies including Burlington Stores, Office Depot, Comcast, and ADT. Throughout his career, he has built and led high-impact initiatives at the intersection of business growth, community engagement, and brand trust—experience that uniquely positions him to support McKinnon Wright’s long-term client relationships and community presence.
Prior to joining McKinnon Wright Wealth Management, Alex was Vice President of Culture, Engagement & Community Impact at Burlington Stores, Inc., where he led enterprise-wide philanthropic strategy and associate engagement for a workforce of more than 60,000 employees nationwide. He also served as Vice Chair of the Burlington Stores Charitable Foundation and helped position the company as one of PEOPLE Magazine’s “100 Companies That Care.” Earlier in his career, Alex was National Director of Community Investment at Office Depot, where he launched national initiatives supporting small businesses and underserved communities, as well as senior community leadership roles at Comcast and ADT.
Alex began his career in New York City, working in advertising before transitioning to public service as Manager of Communications for the New York City Department of Education during the Bloomberg administration. He later founded nycTIES, a nonprofit promoting civic engagement among young professionals, and has since continued to serve in leadership roles across nonprofit, civic, and philanthropic organizations.
Alex holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Florida State University and a Master’s Degree in Strategic Communications from Columbia University. He lives in Boca Raton with his wife, Jessie, and their four children, and remains deeply engaged in the South Florida community through board service, nonprofit leadership, and civic involvement.
