More about the YMCA of Southern Arizona

The YMCA of Southern Arizona is the leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community by connecting all people to their potential, purpose and each other. Since 1914, the Y has been serving Pima County through programs which empower young people, improve individual’s well-being, and provide support and inspire action in our community. Last year the Y served close to 50,000 individuals and provided over $1.1 million in financial assistance to provide low income families and children the opportunity to be part of the Y.

The YMCA believes ALL individuals, no matter their economic status, should have access to the programs which help them reach their fullest potential. Their promise is to never turn anyone away due to the inability to pay and are able to do this through the generosity of donors in community. The YMCA Annual Campaign provides funds for our financial assistance program but also helps the Y offer the community programs that address a community need. One of these programs is YMCA All Kids Swim. This program provides children in the community FREE swim lessons to teach them how to be safe in and around the water. Last year over 1,600 children received free swim lessons. From drowning prevention to addressing the summer learning loss in elementary students; the Y is committed to serving ALL individuals and helping strengthen our community.
