George J. Schietinger is a Private Wealth Financial Advisor with a long tenured career in fixed income and private equity/alternative investments that provides the intellectual capital and insights necessary to identify, reflect upon, and provide solutions to successful individuals, families, nonprofits, and family offices. He began his career as a research analyst on the institutional fixed income trading desk at Bear Stearns. Later, he transitioned into a sales and portfolio management role, focusing on municipal and high yield bonds for UHNW investors. In 1990, George joined Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, the renowned research powerhouse, where he had the invaluable opportunity to learn from founders of the "Endowment Model" of investing, Jack Meyer and David Swensen. Due to his institutional investment experience and understanding of private equity, George was approached to raise an institutional fund of funds on behalf of one of the nation's leading private equity fiduciary consultants. This experience made him one of the few advisors in the country to achieve such a feat.
In 2016, George moved his practice to Wells Fargo Advisors and leveraged his perspective, knowledge and experience managing institutional nonprofit portfolios to focus on helping UHNW individuals and families take advantage of the same core investing principles, including asset allocation, tax efficient asset location, and alternative investment strategies. Seated in the New York City Wells Fargo Private Bank location, the practice allows clients access to fiduciary wealth planning, private banking, trust services, risk management, and various customized and traditional lending products through Wells Fargo affiliates. The team offers a truly differentiated multigenerational wealth management model that addresses not only investment management, but also a family's lifestyle, charitable gifting, and legacy transfer goals.
The Private Wealth Financial Advisor (PWFA) and Private Wealth Advisor (PWA) title is held by a select group of advisors within the firm and recognizes their success working with ultra-high-net-worth (U/HNW) clients. PWFAs and PWAs are focused on managing the complex, multidimensional wealth management needs of individuals, families, foundations, and institutions with the goal of preserving and growing wealth for current and future generations.
PWFAs and PWAs are expected to have an unparalleled level of commitment to grow their business. They lead by example, are early adopters and regular users of products best suited for their U/HNW clients and bring the full value of the firm to meet their clients' needs across lines of business.
George's wife, Elena, is a retired NY State Judge who is now an arbitrator and writes children’s books. They live on Manhasset Bay in what's said to have been the inspiration in the Great Gatsby for Daisy Buchanan's home. They have three grown sons. George enjoys traveling, skiing in Beaver Creek, giving back, listening to music, and reading historical non-fiction.
