In some ways, Kirk always seemed destined to become a financial advisor. His father was a banker and his uncle was a bond trader. Unsurprisingly, investing was a common topic growing up.
But it was his training as a national rowing champion and participant of the 1996 Olympic Trials that taught him important lessons in what he considers to be a successful and fulfilling career. One of those lessons is the power of teamwork. Rowing and investing require everyone to be in sync.
This is why Kirk prides himself on understanding and appreciating each of his clients as individuals with distinct goals (in fact, building and strengthening relationships is what he enjoys doing most). With this knowledge in place, a consistent course of action can be set to help reach established goals in a more timely and cost-efficient manner.
Kirk started his career selling financial products. This led to an important revelation: there is not one all-encompassing strategy or solution that works for everyone. He promised himself that he would focus on the person in front of him — not a particular product or fund.
Kirk believes this philosophy has served his clients well during the past quarter century, a time which the market has shown extreme volatility and unpredictability, both good and bad.
With new technology and new investment options becoming available, he is excited to see how these can enhance his hallmark style of genuine warmth and approachability.
Kirk and his wife live in Glenside, PA, and enjoy supporting their children’s diverse pursuits. With one daughter completing her nursing degree at Auburn University, a son playing collegiate baseball and their youngest recently committing to play volleyball at The Catholic University of America, they’re currently embracing the bittersweet transition to empty nesting. Each year, Kirk prioritizes family connection by cheering at his children's events and planning a special destination trip for the holidays.

From a young age, James has treated money with the inherent respect it deserves. He grew up in a proudly blue-collar family as the son of a teacher and small construction business owner who gave every dollar a specific purpose.
This pragmatic approach guided him as he began his career in 2010 at Wachovia in the Washington DC metro area just as the economy was recovering from the Great Financial Crisis. As he worked his way up to branch manager, and then to premier banker, James was surprised by the decisions that some wealthy clients made: Carrying credit card balances, letting money sit idle instead of being invested. They didn’t lack funds. They lacked knowledge — and confidence, given the market.
His caring nature led him to make simple, proactive suggestions during routine transactions. He felt rewarded simply helping people make better decisions with their wealth, with some customers assuming he was a financial advisor. It was this combination of events that led him to pursue the fulfilling career he has today.
James believes his age and middle-class background give him a different perspective that his clients appreciate. He relishes helping his friends, clients — and even their children — with things like prioritizing saving for retirement, purchasing homes and making the most of an inheritance.
Additionally, he sees a little of his parents in each retirement-age client, which inspired him to complete the CHARTERED RETIREMENT PLANNING COUNSELORTM certification. This knowledge allows him to suggest in-depth strategies for tax-efficient investing, retirement income and cash flow in general.
James and his wife Kaitlin, live in Bucks County with their young son and daughter. He gladly spends any free time on the sidelines as a coach for their youth teams and he and his family look forward to an annual trip to Virginia Beach each summer — a family tradition since 2010. True to his character, he also instills a sense of compassion by bringing them to help him volunteer at the Bucks County Area Agency on Aging.
Sindy starts her workday at 7:30 am sharp by turning on our office lights and steeping a mug of decaf chai tea. By 7:45, she’s probably helped at least one client over the phone. That’s because she genuinely loves what she does — even 45 years into her rewarding career.
She and our team’s founder, Kirk Stensrud, have worked together for 10 of those years, beginning in 2004. When he pursued a career at Morgan Stanley in 2007, Sindy wasn’t able to join him. However, they still kept in touch and reunited a decade later when she introduced Kirk to the financial advisor she was working for at the time. Kirk ended up buying that book of business, which only strengthened the bond between him and Sindy.
She wants everyone reading this to know that she wants you to call her. And, no, you don’t need to apologize for “bothering” her. In fact, a ringing phone is one of her favorite sounds. She welcomes any and all “silly” questions because she delights in giving answers.
No wonder Kirk calls her his right hand —and “work wife.”
Sindy and her husband have been married for 41 years. They’re the proud parents of a son and daughter and the even prouder grandparents to five grandchildren who come to Camp Gam (her home) for arts, crafts and impromptu parties. True to her kind nature, Sindy has also fostered many children over the years. When she needs to recharge, she heads to her mountain cabin.
