Thomas Gutterman

Thomas is a Financial Advisor at Wells Fargo Advisors and has worked in Private Wealth Management since 2014. He works with and covers family offices, individuals, institutions, and foundations. Thomas takes a multifaceted approach to wealth and investment management by recognizing needs outside of traditional asset allocations models. He can provide access to Commercial Banking, Investment Banking, and Private Banking as well as traditional bank products and services to accommodate clients’ needs through Wells Fargo Affiliates.
Thomas strives to address the needs of all sophistications on both sides of the balance sheet. He puts his clients first at all times with the intention of adding value and developing trusting and meaningful relationships.
As a financial advisor, he is responsible for executing bespoke asset allocation strategies, idea generation, business development, client management, syndicate, trading & execution, and team leadership. Thomas focuses on opportunities to help enhance portfolios with a niche in fixed income strategies. He holds Series 7 and Series 66 registrations, and is insurance licensed.
Previously, Thomas was an Associate in the Private Wealth & Investment Management Division at Stifel Nicolaus. His team joined Stifel from Barclays WIM. During his time at Barclays & Stifel, Thomas focused on creating and maintaining relationships with various endowments, pensions, foundations, fund of funds, and asset managers to fundraise for private equity funds that he and his team represented.
Prior to his role at Barclays/Stifel, Thomas was an Analyst at Morgan Stanley where he supported a sales team in portfolio and asset management. He supported clients and his team with research and participated in investment ideas.
Thomas earned his BA in Economics from the University of Maryland – College Park. He currently lives in Union Square in Manhattan. He is an avid basketball player and fan, and is a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. He speaks fluent Hebrew and enjoys traveling the world on his time off.
