With over 27 years of experience in the financial services industry, Bart is a seasoned financial advisor dedicated to helping clients achieve their long-term financial goals.  Bart has extensive background in investment management, retirement planning and wealth preservation strategies.  Bart believes in a client-focused approach to investment planning, which centers around understanding each client’s unique needs and crafting a solution specific to their goals.

One of Bart’s favorite hobbies is fishing the Mississippi River and annual fishing trips to Canada with friends and family. Bart is an active member in the community and their church. He also enjoys walks with his dog and traveling with his wife, Rebecca and their two sons, John and Peter.

I became a Financial Advisor because I am passionate about helping people take control of their financial future.  What I enjoy most is working with my clients in developing a personalized plan that fits their unique goals and then witnessing that plan become a reality. It is very rewarding guiding someone from uncertainty to confidence and watching their dream become achievable through thoughtful strategy and consistent action.

I provide our clients with comprehensive information about social security, retirement planning strategies concerning income flows in retirement, charitable giving and beneficiary designation to assist them in making informed decisions. The Timmerman Financial team brings together a wealth of experience and fresh perspectives. Our team includes my husband, Bart Timmerman, Senior Financial Advisor, with over 27 years in the industry, myself with over 15 years, Michelle Harris, our Registered Client Associate boasting over 25 year of professional experience and our two sons, Financial Advisors John and Peter Timmerman who are just beginning their journey in the financial industry.

I enjoy listening to live music, relaxing in the outdoors with our dog, exploring new places on our bikes and traveling.

John Timmerman is a Financial Advisor with the Timmerman Financial Group of Wells Fargo Advisors who is based out of West Des Moines. He approaches his practice with a blend of analytical expertise and a passion for personal connection. With a background as a data analyst consultant and a degree from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire, John brings a thoughtful, well-rounded approach to investment planning. As a registered advisor, he is committed to helping clients navigate life’s financial milestones with confidence and clear direction.

John’s practice is built on long-term relationships, not transactions. He takes the time to understand each client’s unique story, goals, and legacy, offering a comprehensive approach that includes budgeting, retirement and estate planning strategies, and lifestyle strategies. His ideal clients value collaboration and view him as a trusted partner in their financial journey.

Outside the office, John serves as a youth volleyball coach and trainer. He’s involved with the West Des Moines Young Professionals committee and volunteers with Iowa Service Dogs as a trainer and dog sitter. His dedication to service and community reflects the same values he brings to his work with clients: integrity, empathy, and a commitment to making a lasting impact.

Backed by a team of experienced advisors, Peter brings fresh perspective and energy to every client interaction. He is passionate about building long-term relationships and learning from other seasoned professionals to deliver personalized and well-designed financial strategies. Peter has a background in business analytics and is dedicated to continuously growing his knowledge and expertise in investment planning. He approaches his practice with transparency and integrity, and believes collaboration is key to the success of any plan.

Outside of work, Peter enjoys staying active in the Dubuque community and values the importance of giving back. He is excited to grow within a firm that prioritizes excellence, collaboration, and client success.

2025 Platinum Client Associate

Michelle Harris has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. As a Senior Registered Client Associate, she is instrumental in delivering exceptional service, ensuring client needs are met in a timely and accurate manner, and supporting advisors in meeting client goals.

Michelle holds both the FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 registrations, which allows her to assist clients with securities transactions in addition to assisting clients with their service needs.

In 2025, she earned the prestigious Platinum Client Associate designation, recognizing her leadership in client service and commitment to excellence. The Wells Fargo Advisors Platinum Client Associate recognition is held by a select group of client associates within Wells Fargo Advisors as measured by their success in achieving exceptional performance the previous calendar year. Performance factors are inclusive of client experience, partnership with Financial Advisors to support their objectives, and task execution.

Known for her responsiveness, attention to detail, and operational expertise, Michelle works closely with advisors and clients to provide tailored solutions and foster long-term relationships. Outside of work, Michelle is an avid Chicago sports fan who enjoys baking, crafting, and spoiling her grandchildren—bringing the same warmth and dedication to her personal life as she does to her professional role.
