Ryan Bortner
Ryan is the Managing Principal and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of 114 Private Wealth. He is responsible for executing 114 Private Wealth’s organizational and growth strategies, implementing the vision for geographic expansion, as well as working to protect the practice and the clients by aiming to mitigate risk as the registered principal. As a financial advisor, Ryan prioritizes relationship building with his clients, getting to know them on a personal level to better understand their goals and objectives, and working with them to maintain a disciplined approach through cycles of market volatility. Ryan was awarded the Five Star Wealth Manager Award* in 2024.
Prior to joining 114 Private Wealth, Ryan worked in the wealth management industry for 18 years, and in banking for another 7 years, serving at Capital One, Wachovia Securities, and Wells Fargo Advisors. During his tenure with Wells Fargo Advisors, Ryan held multiple leadership roles in their Home Office locations in Richmond, Virginia, and St. Louis, Missouri, before moving to the field as the Associate Market Manager for the Pittsburgh Major Market in 2014. In 2017, Ryan became the branch manager of the Alexandria, Virginia office, where he managed 40 financial professionals. In 2020, he was awarded the coveted Platinum Council Manager award, due to the strong accomplishments of the branch.
Ryan is a graduate of James Madison University. Today, he resides in Fairfax Station, Virginia, with his wife Kristen, his children, Avery and Reed, and their dog, Buddy. When Ryan’s not in the office, he is usually found on a pool deck, volunteering as a swim official for the Colonial Swim League and the Potomac Valley Swim League. He also volunteers at his church and around his community.
