Our History

Our team’s roots trace back to 1965, when former financial advisor, Taylor Waller Sr., began his career in financial services. Over decades, he built trusted relationships with families across the United States—many of whom continue to work with our practice today. In 1980, his son, former financial advisor Taylor Waller Jr., joined the firm, further strengthening and expanding the foundation that defines our practice.

In 1995, Taylor partnered with former financial advisor, David Mathews, to combine their businesses, forming the Waller / Mathews Wealth Management Group of Wells Fargo Advisors. Together, they cultivated a highly successful partnership that spanned more than 30 years. Committed to ensuring their clients continued to receive thoughtful, comprehensive investment advice, they welcomed John Taylor to the team in 2011.

Before joining the practice, John traveled extensively, teaching financial advisors retirement and income planning strategies. Driven by a desire to apply this expertise directly with clients, John found his calling in personal advisory work. His knowledge and guidance have been invaluable to the families who rely on him as they plan for the future.

As Taylor and David began to approach retirement, the team focused on identifying the right professionals to help carry forward the practice’s legacy. Following an extensive search, financial advisors William Anderson and Marshall Waller joined the practice in April 2022. Like John, Will Anderson spent a significant part of his career coaching financial advisors, and his transition into client-facing work was seamless. He has since become instrumental in supporting clients through long-term planning.

With one final addition needed, the team turned inward. After thoughtful reflection and many conversations, Marshall Waller—representing the third generation of the Waller family—chose to leave a successful commercial real estate career to join the practice. His business experience and strategic perspective have enhanced the team’s collective expertise and delivered immediate value to clients.

With the next generation firmly in place, Taylor and David both retired in April 2023. Today, the practice operates under our new name—the Taylor / Anderson / Waller Wealth Management Group of Wells Fargo Advisors.

We are proud to carry forward a legacy of superior client service that has endured for more than seven decades, and we look forward to continuing that tradition for generations to come.
