Meet Our Team

John graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1983 with a degree in economics. While there, he played varsity football and was privileged to be part of the 1982 Ivy League championship team.

Upon graduation, John began his career as financial advisor and worked with Smith Barney in Philadelphia as well as Dean Witter in New York City.  In 1992, he opened his own financial practice in Ocean City, New Jersey.

John serves as an elder at Landmark Church in Ocean City. He enjoys hosting and leading a weekly men's Bible study, running on the beach as well as playing competitive softball.  John and his wife Susan have two great children, Jason and Gretchen. John credits all of his blessings in life to God.

Jeff graduated from the University of Delaware in 1990 with a degree in Finance. He has over 30 years of investment industry experience, having been a Regional Vice President for a mutual fund company in Boston before moving to Ocean City to assist clients as a financial advisor in 2000.

Jeff has presented hundreds of educational seminars to both clients and financial representatives from Maine to New Jersey including presentations for many local community organizations. Fortress Financial, LLC currently serves clients in over 20 states and had approximately over $530 million in assets under care, as of quarter end December 31, 2022.

He is a Missions Board Member for Landmark Church in Ocean City, a member of the Exchange Club of Ocean City and has been Chairman of the Ocean City Halloween Parade since 2001.  He had also served as a board member for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes for over 15 years.  In his free time, Jeff enjoys surfing, running and spending time at the beach with his wife, Jennifer, and daughter, Juliette.

David began his career in the financial services industry in the field of public accounting in 1991.  It was in 1996 that his interest in finance led him to a position with Morgan Stanley where he developed his fundamental investment knowledge.  After eight years with the firm, David left to join Mass Mutual where he expanded his practice adding insurance, estate and business planning to his investment practice.  In 2014, David had the opportunity to join Fortress Financial and work alongside Financial Advisors, Jeff Shirk and John Shirk, providing personalized financial advice to individuals and their families.

David grew up in Ocean City and attended Rowan University where he graduated in 1990 with a degree in Accounting.  David's love for the community is obvious as he moved back to the area after college to start his practice and raise his family.  David is active in the community and currently serves on the board of the Ocean City Chamber of Commerce.

David and his wife Kendra have three children, Jordan, Alaina and Andrew.  When he can, he likes to spend time on the beach or in the mountains with his family.

Debbie Jordan attended Edward Williams College in Hackensack, NJ. Her career began in banking where she was Branch Manager with Hudson City Savings in Lodi, New Jersey. Later, she and her husband Fran, moved to South Jersey. She was employed by Harrah’s Marina Hotel and Casino as Benefit Administrator. While raising her son Tom, she managed a local gift shoppe in Hammonton. Now residing in Ocean City, Debbie enjoys baking, cooking, gardening and spending time with her family.

Olivia Burke attended Penn State University in Reading, PA.  She was born in Pennsylvania and resided there until she moved to Somers Point, NJ with her son, Logan, in 2017.  Olivia joined the Fortress Financial team in February 2018 where she continues to focus her career on providing excellent customer service.  She enjoys cooking, crafting and spending time with her family on the beach.

Sharon Walls attended New Jersey City and Stockton Universities and is a longtime area resident of South Jersey. Prior to joining Fortress Financial LLC, Sharon spent the majority of her career in the insurance industry, striving to provide clients with exceptional customer service. Sharon enjoys camping, reading, relaxing at the beach and spending time with her husband and two sons.

Amy DiMonte attended Widener University. Amy, her husband Joe and son Asher moved to Ocean City, New Jersey in 2019. Prior to joining Fortress Financial, LLC, Amy was in the mortgage and title business fo 19 years. She enjoys walking with her dog, watching her son play sports and combing the beach for sea glass.
