With over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, Sylvia Guinan is dedicated to empowering individuals, especially women navigating major life transitions, such as divorce, to take control of their financial futures. As a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst* (CDFA
®), Sylvia specializes in providing holistic, informed financial advice that helps clients build confidence and clarity during challenging times.
Sylvia’s comprehensive, planning-driven approach spans Wealth and Investment Management, Retirement Income Planning, Insurance and Asset Protection, Legacy Planning, and Philanthropy Strategies. By working closely with her clients’ CPAs, attorneys, and other professionals, Sylvia helps ensure that all aspects of their financial lives are carefully integrated and managed. At the core of her practice are the three Cs: Clarity, Confidence, and Control.
Her journey in the financial world began in 1999 at Smith Barney, where she developed her skills in the Stock Options Plans business. Sylvia joined Wells Fargo Advisors in 2009, where she shifted her focus to comprehensive wealth planning with a particular passion for supporting women through life’s transitions. Sylvia holds an undergraduate degree and MBA from St. John’s University.
Acting as a personal 'CFO” for her clients, Sylvia collaborates with her network of professionals, including attorneys, accountants, and internal specialists, to help ensure all aspects of her clients' financial needs are seamlessly integrated. Her mission is to help individuals understand the true costs of divorce while fostering a realistic, optimistic outlook for their future.
With a strong focus on education, empathy, and professional collaboration, Sylvia helps clients make informed decisions, providing the stability and guidance needed for families to thrive—no matter the challenges they face.
Outside of her professional work, Sylvia enjoys yoga, walking, and hiking. She resides in both Connecticut and California and is the proud mother of three children.
