John J. Harm III., CFP®

    With almost 30 years of experience in the area of financial services, John is the managing partner of Harm & Harm Financial Consulting Group, located in Williston, Vermont.

    After beginning his career in 1995 as a trading specialist, he served as a regional marketing director for three years at Hartford Life Insurance Company. While at Hartford, John specialized in mutual funds, annuities, various insurance products, and 401(k) plans before joining his father's financial practice in 1999.

    John earned his bachelor's degree from Carnegie Mellon University. In 2007, he graduated from the College for Financial Planning and subsequently obtained his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification. To earn the CFP® certification, John had to complete an approved educational program, pass a rigorous examination and meet stringent experience requirements. As a CFP® professional, he adheres to a Professional Code of Ethics, and he fulfills annual continuing education requirements to remain aware of current planning strategies and financial trends. In May of 2014, after 20 months of intense coursework, John graduated and received a dual-degree Executive MBA in Asset and Wealth Management from both the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University and HEC Lausanne, the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Lausanne. John served two terms on the Board of Directors of the Financial Planning Association of Pittsburgh.

    John, his wife Sarah, and their three children live in South Burlington, Vermont. Sarah is the Network Vice Chair of Laboratory Medicine at the University of Vermont Health Network and Associate Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at the University of Vermont.

    In his free time, John enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, biking, and skiing with his family. John volunteers his time coaching in various organized sports leagues for his children.

      Sarah joined Harm & Harm Financial Consulting Group in October of 2016, significantly contributing to the formation and launch of our previous Burlington office.

      Sarah grew up in West Point, NY, and spent her summers in Malletts Bay. Her love for the area resulted in her decision to pursue her undergraduate education in Burlington, VT, earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in both English and Philosophy from Trinity College of Vermont. Sarah went on to attend Syracuse University College of Law, graduating with her Juris Doctorate (JD).

      Since college, Sarah has lived in many cities throughout the country, including Atlanta, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Palm Springs, Phoenix, and Vergennes, VT.

      Sarah utilizes all her experiences to provide clients with the highest level of support. She strives to ensure that clients' administrative and operations needs are handled accurately and quickly. She handles day-to-day operations of accounts, including opening new accounts, updating existing account information, managing account transfers and answering questions regarding statements. Sarah is also responsible for maintaining a professional and organized environment that allows our team to devote their full attention to clients and their wealth management needs. Sarah is the first person you should call if you have any questions about our wealth management process. She will ensure that the appropriate member of the team promptly responds to your query.

      In her time outside of the office, Sarah and her husband Brad, enjoy being outdoors. They also enjoy spending time doing DIY renovation projects on their home. Sarah loves live music and attends numerous concerts.
