OUR STORY
Quantico Asset Management of Wells Fargo Advisors was founded in 1996 by Lawrence Borger, CFA®, a captain and aviator in the Marine Corps. He believed that the principles instilled in him as a Marine - Honor, Courage, Discipline and Commitment -- coupled with rigorous financial analysis -- would serve as the foundation and philosophy for managing money for institutions, individuals, and families. Our portfolio management discipline and style is inspired and motivated by Warren Buffett’s approach to Value Investing. At Quantico Asset Management of Wells Fargo Advisors, we consider ourselves disciples of Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger.
Lawrence began managing the Large Capitalization Strategy in 1996 while with Prudential Securities, a predecessor firm. In 2004, Wachovia Securities and Prudential Securities merged and Quantico Asset Management of Wells Fargo Advisors became an investment team under Wachovia Securities. In 2009, Wells Fargo Advisors and Wachovia Securities merged and Quantico Asset Management of Wells Fargo Advisors remained as an investment team under Wells Fargo Advisors. It continues to operate its investment strategies autonomously but with back office support from Wells Fargo Advisors. Quantico Asset Management of Wells Fargo Advisors also incepted a Mid-Capitalization strategy in 2008. All investment and client services are conducted in one office with seven employees in Berwyn, Pennsylvania.
Today, the team of professionals at Quantico Asset Management of Wells Fargo Advisors have over 50 years of collective investment experience. The team includes three members who hold the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation.
