Planning Services

As a team of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professionals, planning is at the core of who we are and is the crux of what we do. It is the foundation for our investment recommendations and ultimately your portfolio design. Our plans are complete, looking at both sides of your balance sheet, and they include the following components, as applicable:

  • Prioritization and documentation of goals
  • Overview of personal net worth and personal balance sheet computation
  • Cash flow analysis and a review of various strategies for the efficient use of your capital; this also includes emergency cash savings analysis
  • Liability management, including debt repayment strategies
  • Education/college planning
  • Asset allocation review and evaluation
  • Review of retirement savings strategies, including financial projections of assets required at the estimated retirement date utilizing Wells Fargo Advisors' Envision®*
  • Retirement income and liquidity planning, including retirement readiness analysis and Social Security and pension claiming strategies
  • Life insurance needs analysis, including current policy reviews
  • Risk analysis to assess personal exposure to financial risks and to develop a risk management plan. This often includes a review of life insurance, long-term care insurance, disability income insurance, liability insurance, and homeowners and auto policies.
  • Tax planning strategies, including investment tax minimization, intra-state relocation computation, charitable giving, and retirement income optimization/withdrawal strategies.
  • Sensitivity analysis, including stress tests for longevity, higher inflation, higher or lower investment returns, earlier or later retirement dates, etc.
  • Health and extended care planning, including a financial assessment of your health insurance/Medicare options, long-term care planning, and a review of the practical implications of your appointees for health issues.
  • Estate planning strategies, including estate valuation estimates, federal estate tax estimates, wealth-transfer goals, and explanation of estate planning strategies.

After our analysis is complete, your plan components will be integrated and prioritized into a comprehensive and personalized action plan, also called your financial operating manual. Your plan will be presented in writing (hard copy or electronic) and will be reviewed in detail with you. If necessary for the implementation of your action plan, we will coordinate with your current CPA, estate planning attorney, and any other trusted professionals. If you’re in need of one of these types of professionals, we’re happy to provide you with referrals. Once the plan has been presented, we will continue to work with you and evaluate progress toward your stated goals.

Investment planning offered through Envision and eMoney.

Insurance products are offered through nonbank insurance agency affiliates of Wells Fargo & Company and are underwritten by unaffiliated insurance companies. This is not, in any way, intended as an invitation to replace your existing coverage. Such an exchange is often not appropriate due to such factors as surrender charges on your existing policy, the surrender charge period on the new policy, transaction costs associated with the exchange, the values of the new policy versus the old policy, and the various fees and expenses associated with the new product. Therefore, replacing an existing policy should only be considered after a careful evaluation of these factors as well as a thorough review of your existing coverage.

Wells Fargo Advisors is not a tax or legal advisor.

**IMPORTANT: The projections or other information generated by Envision or eMoney regarding the likelihood of various investment outcomes are hypothetical in nature, do not reflect actual investment results and are not guarantees of future results. Results may vary with each use and over time.

Based on accepted statistical methods, the Envision and eMoney tool uses a simulation model to test your Ideal, Acceptable and Recommended Investment Plans. The simulation model uses assumptions about inflation, financial market returns and the relationships among these variables. These assumptions were derived from analysis of historical data. Using Monte Carlo simulation, the Envision tool simulates 1,000 different potential outcomes over a lifetime of investing varying historical risk, return, and correlation amongst the assets. Some of these scenarios will assume strong financial market returns, similar to the best periods of history for investors. Others will be similar to the worst periods in investing history. Most scenarios will fall somewhere in between.
