Working with a PIM portfolio manager

The Private Investment Management (PIM) program is a customized portfolio management experience geared toward your specific investment goals. It is designed for investors who are seeking long-term portfolio management with a manager who can execute decisions on your behalf, backed by a wide array of research analysts.

  • Ability to hold a wide range of asset types within one portfolio, eliminating the need for multiple accounts
  • Frees your time from being your own asset manager
  • Requires only one fee based on the size of your account, as opposed to traditional trade-based commission charges
  • Top-quality portfolio management expertise and personal services
  • Access to our team members, who are qualified and experienced financial advisors and have achieved the Senior PIM Portfolio Manager designation

To earn the PIM Portfolio Manager designation, a financial advisor has met stringent criteria based on experience and expertise.

Program requirements include:

  • Prerequisite of a minimum of two years as a portfolio manager, five years in financial services, and completion of securities exams
  • Completion of advanced training, including:
    • Ethics exam
    • Proxy exam
    • 40-hour portfolio management training course
If you’re interested in engaging a PIM Portfolio Manager, contact Joseph Bombard or John Cavanaugh to talk more about their processes and investment philosophies.

Fees for the PIM program include advisory services, performance measurement, transaction costs, custody services and trading. Fees are based on the assets in the account and are assessed quarterly. There is a minimum fee per calendar quarter to maintain this type of account. Advisory accounts are not designed for excessively traded or inactive accounts and may not be suitable for all investors. During periods of lower trading activity, your costs might be lower if our compensation was based on commissions. Please carefully review the Wells Fargo Advisors advisory disclosure document for a full description of our services, including fees and expenses. The minimum account size for this program is $50,000.
