Rooted in Family. Driven by Purpose.

For more than 35 years, Bill has helped individuals, families, and business owners navigate important financial decisions with clarity and confidence. As Managing Director and President of Riley Financial Strategies Group, he believes planning is about far more than numbers. It is about protecting what matters most, creating opportunities for future generations, and helping clients make informed decisions throughout every stage of life.

Bill is known for his collaborative, team-based approach to planning. Working alongside licensed associates and a trusted network of professionals, he helps clients bring together the many moving pieces of their financial lives into a clear, coordinated strategy. Whether the goal is preparing for retirement, preserving wealth, reducing taxes, planning a legacy, or navigating a major life transition, Bill focuses on building practical roadmaps designed around each client's unique priorities.

His experience spans sophisticated wealth planning strategies including after-tax investment optimization, tax-efficient distribution planning, Roth conversion analysis, Social Security optimization, Required Minimum Distribution planning, and multi-generational estate and legacy strategies. His objective is simple: help clients make confident decisions while creating greater efficiency and purpose throughout their financial lives.

Bill earned his MBA in Finance from the University of Pittsburgh and holds a bachelor's degree in Finance from the University of Dayton. His professional designations include Accredited Asset Management SpecialistSM, Certified Estate & Trust Specialist, Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorSM, and Accredited Wealth Management AdvisorSM. He also holds his Series 8 securities registrations. Prior to founding Riley Financial Strategies Group, he gained extensive experience in corporate lending, insurance, and personal lending, providing a broad perspective that continues to benefit the families and business owners he serves today.

A strong believer in lifelong learning, Bill regularly attends advanced educational programs and industry conferences to stay at the forefront of planning strategies and market developments. His recent engagements include the Barron's Advisor Summit, Forbes/Shook Advisor Summit, Ed Slott IRA Workshop, Wells Fargo Advisors Alternative Investments Exchange Meeting, and Wells Fargo Top Partners Summit.

Outside of work, Bill enjoys spending time with his grandchildren, maintaining an active lifestyle, and staying involved in his community. A little-known fact: he played both hockey and soccer growing up, attended hockey camp in Guelph, Canada, and continued competing in adult soccer leagues well into his mid-50s.

Our Practice

Many people believe that their financial well-being is linked solely to their ability to earn a high income. True financial independence, however, has much more to do with understanding and taking advantage of the finances you have. It's more about setting financial goals and learning to use financial strategies that will help you meet your objectives.

Our goal as financial professionals is to help you plan for financial security. Whether your goals involve building wealth through investing, funding a child's college education, planning for a comfortable retirement, or protecting your estate, we can help you develop a roadmap to reach your goals and make wise decisions to help improve your financial situation.

The process we follow in completing a total financial strategy consists of:
1. Gathering and analyzing your financial situation to develop a clear picture of your specific needs, assets, liabilities, and risk tolerance;
2. Designing a financial strategy that takes into account the full range of needs you have now, and those needs you may have in the future; and
3. Meeting to review your strategy and make appropriate adjustments to keep your plan on track.
