How to Transfer Your Account

In a few days you will receive an initial package containing documentation requesting information that will enable us to open and transfer your account(s) to Wells Fargo Advisors. To help make this process as easy as possible for you, we have provided links to the three documents you will receive below, along with a brief description of each.

  • Confidential Client Information Questionnaire – In order to protect your privacy and abide by industry regulation, we are unable to take with us copies of your client files, account statements and records. The information on the enclosed questionnaire will be needed in order to expedite the opening of your account(s). Please complete this information questionnaire in full and return to my office.
  • Customer Account Transfer Form (ACATS) – You will receive one Customer Account Transfer Form for each account you maintain and wish to move. This form will need to be signed by the appropriate account owners in order to initiate a transfer of your account(s) to Wells Fargo Advisors. Once an ACAT form has been submitted, assets are typically transferred within 7 business days. Please complete the ACAT form(s) and return to my office.
  • Form W-9 – For each taxable account you wish to transfer, there is a Request for Taxpayer Identification Number and Certification (Form W-9). Please complete this form(s), provide your Social Security Number or Employer Identification Number, and sign where indicated and return to my office.
As soon as we receive these forms along with a copy of your most recent account statement(s), we will begin the process of establishing your new accounts and transferring your assets. Once that process is complete, a second package of completed new account documentation, including disclosures, will be mailed to you requiring your signature. Kindly review, sign and return these documents within 30 days of receipt.
